Normally a heroic character, this version of Izuku Midoriya is one who turns to the dark side after suffering bullying and discrimination from his peers, as well as being rejected by All Might, assuming the identity of the villain Deku. Similar to Tomura Shigaraki, Izuku is found by the League of Villains and ends up joining their cause. The villain Deku has many different variations, but the most common ones usually range from a tragic villain who still retains some of his kind and redeemable qualities, to a psychotic outcast who has completely given up on the desire to become a hero after being rejected by his own idol. Despite not being canon to the original series, the villain Deku has become very popular among My Hero fans, with many speculating on Deku's backstory and his potential as a villain had he never received One For All. He joins the League of Villains and begins to fight against the crippling injustice he received just for being born without a Quirk.

Biography Izuku's backstory usually depends on the version. However, the most common one follows the beginning of the original story, with Izuku being born Quirkless and being bullied and discriminated against for it. Katsuki Bakugou also contributes to this with his bullying, as well as nicknaming him Deku. This continues until Deku meets All Might like he did in the original. However, instead of the Symbol of Peace seeing Deku's potential and raising him to be his successor, All Might dismisses Deku's plight, saying that he simply cannot be a hero, either out of cruel pragmatism or concern for the boy's safety. Either way, this completely destroys Deku's self-confidence and sends him down a path of villainy.

Personality The personality of the villain Deku varies from the versions he is depicted in, however, the most well-known and common personality given to him in most of his incarnations was before he became the villain Deku, he was still the same as the original Deku, kind, friendly, helpful, considerate, and even going so far as to risk his life to save Bakugo from being killed. After becoming the villain Deku, Izuku lost all traits of his former self, becoming a cold-hearted, calm, collective, calculating, highly intelligent, manipulative, inconsiderate, and sadistic individual who has no moral qualms within himself, feels no remorse and no hesitation in causing misery and killing others for fun. He enjoys mocking heroes, telling them how pathetic and useless they are to society and that no one needs them, all the while disheartening and hurting their spirits. However, in some special cases, Villain Deku even convinced some heroes (mostly UA students who have terrible pasts involving society or heroes that led them to think poorly of the world) to join the League of Villains.

Appearances It depends on the variations of his story, although people have suggested that his main appearance is that of wearing an outfit similar to All For One, or a waiter outfit like Kurogiri, he wears black gloves, and unlike his original self, this Deku has glowing red eyes.

Powers and abilities It depends on each variant of Villain Deku. But almost all of them maintain Izuku's intelligence and the ability to be friendly, especially when he "infiltrates" UA High. The villain Deku's powers depend on each AU, with the following AUs being the most popular. Quirkless Villain Deku: Izuku has no quirk and uses his intelligence to gain information from other heroes. He may also be proficient in martial arts and/or carry a support weapon (support weapons are usually a combat or hunting knife or a pack of katanas that he carries with him). Quirk Villain Deku: Izuku is given one or more quirks, usually by All For One. Each quirk depends on the AU, mostly to further the story. OFA Villain Deku: Izuku obtains One For All from All Might, with the results depending on each story. AFO Villain Deku: Possessing All For One's namesake quirk, Izuku can draw quirks from heroes, much like All For One himself, and the possibilities of what abilities he could steal and use are endless.

Trivia The villain Deku is shown to be a dark parallel to Izuku Midoriya. The villain Deku was actually based on Izuku's backstory and what happened to him but it occurred differently. While Izuku eventually obtained the One for All quirk from All Might and was accepted into UA. The villain Deku was rejected by All Might and was accepted into the League of Villains. If Izuku hadn't been accepted by All Might as his successor, he might have turned out like the villain Deku. It is noted that if the villain Deku were given the chance to meet his heroic counterpart, he would also despise and resent that counterpart due to how fortunate she has become. In the famous headcannons, it is suggested that the villain Deku and Himiko Toga would enter into a loving relationship (even though the creator confirmed that Toga only loved him for two things and that is her desire to drink his blood to satisfy her bloodlust, and because he has similar appearances to a dead classmate who she was so deeply in love with that she killed and drank his blood during her pre-villain time), which depends on the villain's depiction. However, many still think that he would be Ochaco Uraraka's lover.

The villain Deku has many different variants, but the most common is that of a cold and calculating villain who uses infiltration and espionage to stay three steps ahead. He either hates any hero or is a psychotic outcast. He has completely abandoned the desire to become a hero after being rejected by his idol.
