Shota Aizawa (相あい澤ざわ消しょう太た Aizawa Shōta ?), also known as Eraser Head (イレイザー・ヘッド Ireizā Heddo ?), is a professional hero and the head teacher of Class 1-A at UA Academy

Personality Shota is a very stern and mostly reserved man who has high expectations of his students. Logic primarily drives him and he does not believe in the need to maintain a clean appearance or filter his words or ideas to others. He often appears cold, apathetic and impatient, requiring very little energy in most situations, preferring to take naps in his sleeping bag.

As a teacher of high expectations, Shota is known for expelling students he deems unsuitable for UA Academy, although it is notable that he has yet to expel any students from Class 1-A despite being known for doing so. He can be rigid and strict when necessary and also has little tolerance for disobedient behavior. Shota is not afraid to put his students through rigorous training and often, he pushes the nastier parts of heroism so that his students can surpass his limits. Shota has proven to be very vocal and fearless in expressing his ideas. He has mentioned on several occasions that some of UA's options when it comes to exams are not practical or challenging enough for true Hero hopefuls and is adamant about certain systems used by the institution being changed. He also openly stated that he did not believe Izuku Midoriya could become a hero when they met and is known for lying to his students to manipulate them into giving their best, a technique he describes as "logical deception"/"rational deception."

Despite his apathetic traits, Shota truly cares about his students and will go to great lengths to protect them, such as while saving Tsuyu Asui from Tomura Shigaraki despite her serious injuries. He has also expressed his belief in his students on multiple occasions and trusts that even the likes of Katsuki Bakugo will not be influenced by villains. Recovery Girl even implied that he allowed himself to be captured by Momo Yaoyorozu during their End of Term Test to boost her confidence. Shota has shown on several occasions that he is not completely devoid of joy or humor. Despite his personality, he often smiles whenever he is impressed by one of his students or after tricking them with one of his "rational tricks."

Appearance Shota is a tall, thin, pale-skinned man with messy shoulder-length black hair that hangs partially in front of his face and half-open black eyes. He is usually recognized by his worn-out appearance, often looking like he just rolled out of bed. His facial hair remains unkempt and his eyes almost always look tired and flat. After being severely injured by Nomu, Shota's entire face and both of his arms were completely covered in bandages. Once these bandages were removed, Shota reveals a deep scar beneath his right eye. His formal attire for press conferences and meetings with his students' parents includes a black suit, blue tie, and a white dress shirt. While wearing this attire, his hair is neatly styled and pulled back into a low bun at the base of his neck. In his downtime or when relaxing in his staff apartment, Shota wears a loose black shirt with long sleeves and his hair in a messy bun.

Skills Keen Intellect: Shota has been seen to have a keen ability to observe and evaluate, as he was able to gauge the personalities of his students and their mental state. Shota is also an expert in handling his Quirk and equipment together, such as using his glasses in conjunction with his Quirk to prevent enemies from figuring out whose Quirk he is nullifying, effectively creating confusion. It also serves to formulate strategies to deal with different types of enemies, especially those who are immune to his Quirk. Hand-to-Hand Combat: He is extremely skilled in hand-to-hand combat and uses his Capture Gun efficiently when facing villains, so much so that he is able to hold his own when outnumbered without even using his Quirk. He is surprisingly fast and strong, able to evade multiple attacks quickly while surrounded while restraining his attackers and sending them flying thanks to his calculated counterattacks.

Scarf of Control and Binding (操そう縛ばく布ふ Sōbakufu ?): Shota developed a unique fighting style through the use of his capture weapon, trapping and/or immobilizing his opponents, as well as using it for mobility by swinging on objects in the area.
