Inosuke Hashibira (嘴はし平びら伊い之の助すけ, Hashibira Inosuke?) is one of the main characters of the Kimetsu no Yaiba franchise. He was a Demon Slayer belonging to the Demon Extermination Corps and the creator and only known user of the Beast's Breath.

Appearance Description Inosuke was a young man of average height[3]. He always wore a mask made of a boar's head[4] with grey fur and blue eyes[5]. Instead of wearing the standard Demon Slayer uniform, he wore a black Hakama with a skirt made of fur at the waist protecting his groin and genitals[6]. By not wearing the jacket of the average Demon Slayer uniform, he showed off his torso which had a completely muscular and toned appearance[7]. When not wearing his Boar mask, Inosuke's face was that of an effeminate-looking young man[8] with short dark hair with extensions that faded into shades of blue and green eyes[9] with thick eyelashes accentuating his feminine-featured face[10].

Personality Inosuke was extremely temperamental, impulsive, not very patient, and full of excessive pride. His pride was such that he was even willing to fight against opponents who were technically stronger than him [11]. He was not the kind of person who stopped to think about the difference in levels that existed between him and his opponent, which often put him in serious danger of dying. This has happened on several occasions, such as when he was convinced of being able to defeat the Higher Moons Six, Daki and Gyutaro, after being influenced by the words of Tengen Uzui [12]. At times he had trouble admitting defeats to him, so he was a bad loser and was always trying to compete against Tanjiro Kamado and provoke him into fighting him, failing miserably in his attempts [13]. Despite this, deep down Inosuke seemed to have an insecurity that he hid with his arrogant attitude for not knowing how to adapt to those around him and with the fear of being rejected for being different. His low self-esteem becomes known after his defeat suffered by one of the Spider Demons and then humiliated by the water pillar Giyu Tomioka, even apologizing to his companions for his weakness.

Because he grew up alone in the mountains, Inosuke had trouble interacting with others and only cared about himself most of the time. However, as time goes on, he becomes more influenced by the kindness and good deeds of the people around him, and also begins to think and use strategies before facing an opponent. Whenever he interacted with other people he didn't know, the first thing he did was assume they were an enemy and thought about attacking them, ready to fight them. This may be due to having grown up surrounded by wild animals, which as an instinctive reaction to danger or something unknown, they stand on guard ready to defend themselves against any possible threat. Similar to Tanjiro, Inosuke lacked common sense and was easily intrigued by things and places he had never seen before. When they were about to go to the train that contained the Kyojuro Rengoku Pillar, Inosuke became guarded and assumed that the train was the "boss" of that place and was prepared to fight it, only to be stopped and suppressed by Zenitsu.

As the series progressed, Inosuke became more focused and concentrated on his missions as a demon hunter, demonstrated during the mission in the Entertainment District when he infiltrated as a courtesan and was silently investigating the possibility of the presence of a demon in that place, also demonstrating a competent ability to analyze and intuit.

Thanks to this highly developed sense, he was able to sense even the slightest vibration in the air, thus managing to detect both enemies and allies. His skills as a swordsman allowed him to face and defeat Upper Moon Two, Doma with the help of Kanao Tsuyuri. He was also able to cut off the head of the former Upper Moon Six, Daki.

Breath of the Beast (獣ケダモノの呼こ吸きゅう, Kedamono no Kokyū?): It was a breathing style derived directly from the breath of the wind created by himself, using as references various beasts and animals with which he lived during his days in the mountains. His style consisted of using swords whose edge had several saw-like intersections that served to rip and tear vital points of the opponent, combining it with his natural abilities which were necessary to execute the 11 fangs of this breath to perfection. The postures that he could perform were:

First Fang: Pierce and Extract (壱いちノ牙きば 穿うがち抜ぬき,, Ichi no kiba: Ugachi Nuki?)[14]: Using both swords, he stabbed the enemy's neck with great piercing power. Second Fang: Tear and Tear (弐にノ牙きば 切きり裂さき,, Ni no kiba: Kirisaki?)[15]: He launched a powerful X-shaped attack with his two swords. Third Fang: Tear and Devour (参さんノ牙きば 喰くい裂ざき,, San no kiba: Kuizaki?)[16]: He performed a double horizontal cut with his two swords. Sixth Fang: Wearing Bite (陸ろくノ牙きば 乱らん杭ぐい咬がみ,, Roku no kiba: Ranguigami?)[19]: Allowed him to decapitate his enemy by performing simultaneous cuts with both of his swords from both directions in a sawing motion. Seventh Fang: Spatial Perception (漆しちノ型かた 空くう間かん識しき覚かく,, Shichi no kiba: Kūkan Shikikaku?)[20]: He used his sensory senses to identify everything around him in a very wide range, even sensing every living being on a mountain. Eighth Fang: Pig Rush (捌はちノ型かた 爆ばく裂れつ猛もう進しん, Hachi no kiba: Bakuretsu Mōshin?)[21]: charged the enemy, cutting them several times in the process. Ninth Fang: Divine Wave Slash (玖くノ牙きば 伸しん・うねり裂ざき,, Ku no kiba: Shin - Unerizaki?)[22]: Allowed him to dislocate his joints, gaining greater range in his attacks. Tenth Fang: Rotating Fangs (拾じゅうノ牙きば 円えん転てん旋せん牙が,, Jū no kiba: Enten Senga?)[23]: Rotated both swords circularly like a fan. Curiosities Inosuke's surname contains the kanji for "peak" (嘴 hashi) and "wide, flat" (平 bira?), and his first name contains the Man'yōgana for the kana "I" (伊 i), and the Man'yōgana for the kana "no" (之 no) and the regular kanji for "assistance, help" (助 suke). Inosuke's popularity poll rankings: He came 5th in the first popularity poll with 1,977 votes. He came 6th in the second popularity poll with 8,750 votes. Inosuke's crow remains hidden most of the time. This is because he almost ate his crow on 18 different occasions.
