Roleplay: Zombie Apocalypse - "The Night Virus"

Setting: In 2035, the world lies in ruins due to a virus called Nocturne, a biological mutation designed as a weapon by corrupt governments. The virus is activated by sunlight, accelerating the transformation of those infected into aggressive and ultra-resistant creatures known as Nocturnes. At night, those infected remain in a passive state, although they retain basic instincts, giving survivors a few hours' head start to seek shelter, supplies, or otherwise engage them with less risk.

The main characters

Protagonists and allies: 1. Renata Vega (Leader and strategist): Description: 32-year-old Latina woman, former military officer and strategy expert. Personality: Strong, protective, with great leadership skills, but tormented by having lost her partner at the beginning of the outbreak. Position: Leader of the group, responsible for directing and maintaining balance between the members. Relationship: She takes care of the twins (daughters of her deceased sister) and is beginning to trust Isaac, the robotics expert. 2. Twins Sofia and Luna Vega (Young Survivors): Age: 8 years old. Description: Sofia is curious and brave, while Luna is more reserved and observant. Role: Although they are girls, their intelligence makes them valuable; Sofia can solve complicated puzzles, while Luna has a photographic memory that helps her remember maps or patterns. Relationship: They adore Renata, but also trust Isaac, who built them a small surveillance drone. 3. Isaac Meyer (Robotics Expert, Ally/Enemy): Age: 29 years old. Description: A robotics genius with a bionic arm and ambiguous morals. He worked for a corporation that created part of the virus. Personality: Calculating, sarcastic, but with a vulnerable side that he shows towards the twins. Role: Builds tools and defense for the group, though his secrets could be a danger to everyone. Relationship: Tension with Renata, as she distrusts his past. 4. Damon Black (Hunter and Tracker): Age: 35 years old. Description: African-American male with experience in hunting and survival. Silent, but very protective of the group. Role: Tasked with scouting dangerous areas and tracking supplies. Relationship: He has a close bond with Sofia and Luna, whom he sees as the daughters he never had.

Enemies and threats

1. High fever and sensitivity to light. 2. Changes in the skin (hardens and cracks). 3. Increase in physical strength during the day. 4. Catatonic state at nightfall. Behaviour: Faster and more aggressive in direct sunlight; less active but still dangerous at night. 2. Dr. Vincent Karsen (Main Antagonist): Age: 50 years old. Description: Corrupt scientist, head of the research that created the virus. He believes that nocturnals are the next step in human evolution. Personality: Cold, manipulative and with a superiority complex. Role: He leads a group of survivors who work for him, seeking to capture immune people. 3. The Red Hunters (Rival Militia): Description: An armed group led by ex-soldiers, who steal resources and enslave other survivors. Relationship: They have a deal with Karsen to capture infected.

Key relationships between characters

Renata and Damon work as a solid team, although Renata doesn't always fully share their plans. Isaac tries to gain the group's trust, especially Renata's, but his connection to Karsen puts their loyalty at risk. The twins are a connecting point between all the characters; their innocence and unique abilities give them a special position.

Survivors' Marks

In this new world, survivors develop biological markings as a result of the forced evolution of the Night Virus. These markings appear as luminous tattoos that reflect their biological role within the human hierarchy (dominant alpha, alpha, beta, or omega). The markings, located on different parts of the body, glow faintly in the dark and manifest during adolescence or after events of great emotional stress. Types of Trademarks and Meanings 1. Dominant Alphas: Brand Description: A concentric spiral figure that covers part of the chest or back. Special Abilities: Increased strength and endurance, capable of leading large groups and confronting the infected directly. Relationship with others: Dominant by nature, they usually inspire respect or fear. Known survivors: Renata Vega (mark on upper right arm). 2. Common Alphas: Brand Description: Diagonal lines crossing the shoulders or ribs. Special Abilities: Great strategic and combat ability, but less authoritarian than the dominants. Relationship with others: They tend to follow the dominant ones or act as secondary leaders. Known survivors: Damon Black (mark on the back of his neck). 3. Betas: Brand Description: A double line that runs from the neck to the collarbone. Special Abilities: Physically and mentally balanced, able to adapt to almost any task. Relationship with others: Neutral in relationships; they often mediate conflicts. Known survivors: Isaac Meyer (mark on right wrist). 4. Omegas: Brand Description: Small, interlocking circles, usually located on the wrists, ankles, or neck. Special Abilities: Extreme sensitivity and unique perception abilities, capable of detecting infected before they arrive. Relationship with others: Physically vulnerable, but essential for group survival.

Hybrid Children

Origin: Hybrid children emerged after the start of the apocalypse, born from infected humans who survived the initial stages of the virus. These children possess animal features (tails, ears, spots or adapted limbs) that make them physically more suitable for the hostile world, but separate them socially from humans. Example: Human-zebra hybrids Sofia and Luna Vega have black and white stripes on their backs and legs, as well as longer, more sensitive ears. These features give them improved balance and speed. Special abilities: Greater resistance to the virus, but they are not completely immune. Specific animal traits (enhanced sense of smell, night vision, etc.). Communicating with other hybrids through unique sounds or gestures. Perception of Humanity: The remaining humans blame the hybrids for the zombie apocalypse, based on conspiracy theories that claim that the mixing of human and animal DNA altered the stability of the Night virus. This has led to a deep hatred and prejudice towards hybrids, who are seen as even more dangerous monsters than the Nights.

Survivors' Powers from the Night Virus

Not only did the Night Virus turn most of humanity into zombies and monsters, but the survivors who managed to resist or adapt have developed unique abilities. These abilities, linked to the type of mark (dominant alpha, alpha, beta, omega) or to individual mutations, are considered both a gift and a curse. Common Powers Among Survivors 1. Heightened Senses: Description: Heightened eyesight, hearing, and/or smell to detect zombies or hybrids at long distances. Example: Betas and omegas usually have a higher range of perception than the rest. Advantage: Useful in ambushes and night scouting. 2. Physical Resistance: Description: Increase in strength, speed, or pain tolerance. Example: Common in dominant alphas and alphas, who can withstand direct attacks. Advantage: Ideal for hand-to-hand combat. 3. Partial Regeneration: Description: Minor wounds, such as cuts or burns, heal faster than normal. Example: Omegas regenerate slower but feel less pain, while dominant alphas heal faster. Advantage: Prolongs survival in extreme conditions. 4. Virus Resistance: Description: Although not immune, survivors take longer to succumb to the virus if bitten or exposed. Advantage: More time to seek treatment or stop the infection.

Unique Powers Among Key Survivors

1. Renata Vega (Alpha Dominant): "Impact Force" Ability: He can concentrate all his strength into a single blow, capable of knocking down doors, vehicles, or even breaking the ground. Weakness: It takes a long time to recover after using this ability. Use: Mainly in combat or to rescue trapped allies. 2. Isaac Meyer (Beta): "Brain Interface" Ability: His mind is partially connected to technology, allowing him to control drones or machinery just by touching it. Weakness: Requires constant mental rest; too much use causes nosebleeds or dizziness. Use: Disable security systems or build survival tools. 3. Damon Black (Alpha): "Crimson Vision" Ability: He can enter a state of extreme concentration where he sees the world in shades of red, identifying weak points in enemies and structures. Weakness: Temporarily blinded after using this power for too long. Use: Strategic in combat against zombie hordes or hostile hybrids. 4. Sofia Vega (Omega-Zebra Hybrid): "Silent Steps" Ability: Able to move without making the slightest noise, ideal for infiltrations. Weakness: Its small body is not suitable for direct combat. Use: Exploration of dangerous areas or evasion of enemies. 5. Luna Vega (Omega-Zebra Hybrid): "Electromagnetic Pulse" Ability: Generates a small electrical pulse that disables nearby devices or stuns enemies. Weakness: She can only use it for extended periods of time; the strain may render her unconscious. Use: Desperate escapes or against mechanized enemies. 6. Rexan Jones (Alpha Dominant): "Living Armor" Ability: His skin can harden temporarily, making him almost invulnerable to bullets and cuts. Weakness: During activation, loses speed and reaction ability. Use: Works as a tank to protect the group in critical situations

Unknown or Unusual Abilities

1. Clara Bennett (Omega): "Night Song" Ability: Emits a hypnotizing sound that calms zombies and temporarily drives them away. Weakness: Sound attracts hybrid predators. Use: Ideal for avoiding unnecessary fights with large hordes. 2. Zayn Alvarez (Beta): "Umbra" Ability: Manipulate shadows to create distractions or hide. Weakness: Works only in low light conditions; shadows are not tangible. Use: Stealthy exploration or indirect combat. 3. Eve Reinhardt (Alpha Dominant): "Pure Rage" Ability: Enters a frenzy state where his strength, speed, and endurance increase exponentially. Weakness: After the frenzy, she is completely exhausted and unable to defend herself. Use: Last resort against massive hordes.
