most resources like weapons and food are hard to come across due to the lack of people manufacturing them

there are still some stores in small towns that have not been raided, but even then there's still a scarce amount of resources. The food you gather can still rot. other survivors might try to steal your resources by attacking you, killing you, or taking it from you while you sleep

zombies are typically "born" from if a person dies or if a person is bitten by one. The bitten get a high fever and slowly become weak, eventually dying and becoming one of the undead. Those eaten by zombies still turn, but don't have the limbs that were eaten.

zombies are attracted to loud noises, like screaming or gunshots, or the smell of blood. you can disguise your scent by covering yourself in zombie guts. they walk slowly, some even limp depending on if their leg was bitten. Zombies don't go for brains, they just go for flesh. The only way a zombie can die is by having its brain destroyed. Zombies are very unintelligent and can't open doors or swim.

there are not many survivors. most of them, however, try to locate others in order to increase their chances of survival. some resort to violence and murder to get resources.

most groups of survivors set up a base in large stores or high up areas to ensure safety. they establish their own type of government and elect people in the group to run the place. those in charge make rules, good or bad, and set jobs up, like gathering and hunting parties. some abuse their position of power to use those in the group as "slaves", making them get food, fix things, and even get their way with them. they don't care about the age of the person they're doing it to. some groups can get as large as hundreds of people, others are one or four survivors.
