Meruem

Meruem appears to be quite humanoid for an ant. He was muscular and toned, despite his relatively small frame compared to his minions. He had two long antennae on his ears, and a large shell-like armor over his head that resembled a helmet. There were dark pigmented areas on his arms, legs, chest, and head. Meruem was always barefoot. He also possessed a powerful tail equipped with a stinger that serves as his weapon. His hands and feet

Meruem was initially seen as a cruel and violent leader. The queen's intention to produce perfect offspring was reflected in Meruem's mentality, as the Ant King was haughty towards everyone. He spoke eloquently and had refined tastes for one of his species. He considered himself superior to all other life forms and felt no concern for his dying mother after birth. Meruem is also ruthless, killing and cannibalizing any Chimera Ant he sees. The Chimera Ant King, Meruem, is the most powerful offspring of the Chimera Ant Queen. While still inside his mother's cocoon, Meruem was born prematurely. Meruem was so eager to be born that he forcefully tore open his cocoon. In doing so, he caused severe internal injuries to the Chimera Ant Queen, however, Meruem did not care about his mother; his main concern was food. Meruem was the next to last Ant born to the Queen and held the title of Chimera Ant King. He was born prematurely, forced through the abdomen. According to Chimera Ant sociology, after the King is born, the Royal Guards will simply follow his commands and he will leave the nest to find various creatures to mate with and impregnate to create the next Chimera Ant Queen. Soon after being born, Meruem left his original nest in NGL with his Royal Guards in search of a place to start his kingdom. His name means "the light that shines in all".
