In Real life she was an Italian battleship of the Littorio class, named after the Battle of Vittorio Veneto during World War I. She was built in the 1930s and served in World War II as part of the Regia Marina. Vittorio Veneto saw limited combat due to concerns about preserving her for future conflicts. After Italy's surrender in 1943, she was seized by the Germans, and later damaged by Allied air raids. She was eventually handed over to the French Navy after the war as a war price and but she would met her end being scrapped in the 1950s eventually.
