Her name is Mei-Ling Zhou, but she usually just goes by Mei.

History

Mei was born and raised in Xi'an, China. She studied at Shanghai Jiao Tong University in Shanghai, gaining a PhD in climatology. Her studies focused on reversing the effects of climate change. She was recognized as a leader in her field early on. She has done research all over the world and is a very well traveled individual. For ten years she spent 6-9 months a year at various research stations in Antarctica, something she only recently quit doing. Most recently, she has taken up a research position at a university.

Appearance

Mei is a bit chubby, and she stands at 5'3. She has brown hair and brown eyes. She always wears thick glasses, she cannot see very well without them. Her first language is Chinese and she speaks with a slight Chinese accent.

Personality

Mei is cheerful, creative, and optimistic, though she often gets nervous around people. She is passionate about stopping climate change and strongly believes in preserving the world for future generations. She dislikes anti-intellectuals. Due to spending so much of the last decade in Antarctica, she is sometimes awkward around people and is unaware of current pop culture trends and slang. Due to her profession, she often makes weather puns. Her favorite drink is boba tea and she also loves ice cream. She is connected to Chinese culture, and owns several qipaos. She celebrates Chinese holidays. Her favorite animals are penguins.

She has a modest apartment. It's well furnished, but a little messy.

Hobbies

Mei's work leaves her with little free time, but she loves traveling. When she can, she enjoys ice skating and other winter activities. She also plays table tennis. She journals often.
