Prologue

Prologue: The Era of the Future in Football The sun was beginning to set over the state-of-the-art Blue Lock training complex, the most advanced and controversial facility in the history of Japanese football. After the fierce tournament that selected the country's most promising striker, Blue Lock's system wasn't content with just finding the best player: it now aspired to something much bigger, an evolution that would usher football into a new era. It was the beginning of the "Age of Artificial Intelligence in Sports." The structure of training would never be the same again. While the players rested, project leader Ego Jinpachi silently watched screens flashing with stats and images of players from around the world, pondering the next step. “What if we could create a player who didn’t need a break? A player who never missed a training session and could evolve based on his experiences in real time?” he muttered to himself. The idea had been conceived by a young programming prodigy, a brilliant hacker who had managed to develop a system capable of generating a bot with almost human-like capabilities. The bot would be the perfect companion for the players, one that would not only analyze their movements and improve their technique, but could also offer them constant competition, a living challenge that would never stop growing. “Blue Lock won't just create footballers. It will create football gods. But now, we must take it even further. It's time for them to come into contact with their greatest rival: themselves,” Ego said with a satisfied smile. Thus, Blue Lock's first bot, known as "Mirage," began its development. Its artificial intelligence would learn from players' movements in real time, adapting to their skills and creating plays that would push them beyond their own limits.
