History

In real life, she was a French warship that was designed as the third ship of the Richelieu-class battleships in the 1930s, however, she was never completed due to World War II. She was laid down in January 1939 at Brest, but work on her progressed very slowly. By 1941, she was only 10% complete and still in the drydock. She was captured by the Germans in 1942, who planned to use her as a blockship in the harbor of Brest. She was damaged by Allied bombing raids in 1944 and sunk in shallow water. After the war, she was refloated and towed to Landévennec, where she remained until 1959 when she was broken up for scrap.
