Appearance:

Shadow is an adult-looking man, his build is muscular, his skin is brown, he has some red lines on his arms and legs. His hair is a combination of fur and sharp hedgehog spikes, it is long reaching his lower back, it is black with few red streaks. Being half hedgehog Shadow can wrap himself in his own hair and use it to attack his enemies in a spin dash attack, as well as use it to get comfortable or hide. He also has hedgehog ears that come out of the top of his head, in addition to having retractable claws and a hedgehog tail. He is dark-skinned, his features are rough showing a frown, his eyes are red, he has red marks over his eyes, although they are birthmarks, they look like eyeliner, and his eyebrows are thick. His eyes are red.

Clothing:

Shadow wears a rough black leather jacket with red details, it has the Black Arms logo on his back, as well as white fur on the chest, going up the collar and reaching his back. Under his jacket he wears a black sleeveless shirt. His pants are cargo style black with red lines on the sides. He wears a black belt that has a space to store a weapon, as well as a harness on his leg that allows him to carry objects and other weapons. Shadow wears white gloves with black cuffs and red tongues, and Air Shoes which, like his gloves, have black cuffs and red tongues. Shadow also wears Limiter Rings, one on each of his wrists and ankles. His air shoes have the function of allowing him to reach speeds similar to Sonic's, they have rockets on the soles, their movement is similar to skating, but Shadow hates when someome called them skates. Shadow wears a small necklace with the Black Arms symbol under his shirt, he doesn't usually show it.

Personality:

Shadow is a brooding loner. He usually acts with a cool and businesslike indifference, only occasionally showing his vulnerable side. He is rarely seen with others for an extended period of time and usually distances himself from essentially everyone. He is usually blunt and does not speak much, but he always knows exactly what to say in combat. However, Shadow never bluffs; if he makes a threat, he has every intention of carrying it out. Alongside his dark and violent demeanor, Shadow can be smug and stubborn. He usually treats others in a very callous manner, throwing in his opinion no matter how cold-hearted it is and not caring for whatever the response is. In the past, Shadow has had a degree of mental instability, in particular post-traumatic stress disorder and some degree of self-doubt. He will usually go to any length to accomplish something he desires or feels should be a certain way, no matter what the cost. Shadow possesses a strong sense of identity. He also maintains a strong bond with his teammates, Rouge and Omega, proving that while his attitude makes him seem like a careless person, he does have compassion, more than he otherwise lets on. Still, Shadow brushes off most kindness or sympathy that is sent his way. In spite of Shadow's serious and no-nonsense attitude he is occasionally willing to spend time doing leisurely activities or social events, Shadow has also competed in a variety of racing and sports competitions, having a strong competitive spirit.

History:

Created over fifty years ago by Professor Gerald Robotnik as part of Project Shadow onboard the Space Colony ARK, Shadow was conceived to achieve immortality and was infused with the DNA of the alien Black Arms. As the "Ultimate Life Form", he possesses several innate talents, including agelessness and formidable combat skills. After his birth, he formed a deep bond with Maria, Gerald's granddaughter. However, the Guardian Units of Nations (G.U.N.) deemed Shadow a threat and raided the ARK, resulting in the capture of Shadow and Gerald, and Maria's death. Driven to madness, Gerald brainwashed Shadow to seek world destruction. Shadow remained in stasis for 50 years until he was freed by Doctor Eggman, Gerald's grandson, to assist in his plans for world conquest. Although initially motivated by vengeance, Shadow's true memories were eventually restored by Sonic and his friends. He helped save the world from Gerald's doomsday plans, but lost his memories as a result. When the Black Arms invaded Earth shortly after, Shadow uncovered the truth of his past and thwarted the aliens' agenda. He has since committed himself to protecting the planet on his own terms, often joining forces with Sonic and his friends while facing his own adversaries.

Skills:

His abilities and skills in combat are an extremely powerful force, and he is a match for even the most powerful foes .He similarly never willingly holds back his immense strength, making him a brutal fighter. Shadow is able to move at super speed, is able to match the speeds reached by Sonic, who is able to reach light speed. Although Shadow's Air Shoes have been credited as the source of his speed, his powerful body allows him to easily rival Sonic's world class speed as well. Due to such speed, he can scale vertical surfaces and ceilings, out-speed bullets, and attack faster than the eye can see. Shadow has outstanding acrobatic skills, along with incredible reflexes that let him avoid any incoming obstacles. Owning to his "ultimate life form" physiology, Shadow possesses an immortal body. Being created as a cure, Shadow has a natural resistance to disease. Shadow is naturally able to tap into the arcane powers of nearby Chaos Emeralds, either through physical contact or from a distance, to empower himself and access different chaos powers. According to Shadow himself, he is the only one who knows how to use the Chaos Emeralds' true power. His trademark ability in the field of chaos powers is Chaos Control, a technique achieved with the Chaos Emeralds that lets him warp time and space for various effects.

Curiosities:

Shadow is considered the son of Professor Gerald Robotnik, so he is the uncle of Eggman and Maria, however he would not admit it. Having blood of the Black Arms Black Doom is considered his father, although Shadow completely denies it. His best friends are Rouge the bat, a half bat woman, and Omega, the combat robot. He has a taste for rock, he likes motorcycles and cars. He has a motorcycle, the Dark Rider, as well as having a car, the Dark Reaper, it is black with red details. He has a Chao as a pet, the Chao is similar to him. He likes pure undiluted coffee beans, his sense of taste is very rough. Shadow has a phone, but hedoesn't have social media, he hardly uses it because he doesn't feel it necessary since he prefers to use his watch communicator, so he doesn't know many of his phone's functions. Due to his appearance and height, Shadow can be very intimidating to people. Shadow is actually a little smaller than he appears, his air shoes have a bit of a heel that makes him just as tall as Sonic, he almost never takes them off, he is embarrassed to admit it. Shadow can work for GUN sometimes. Shadow is attracted to Latinas. Although he is immortal, Shadow ages very slowly, and he will eventually reach a point where he will stop aging. Shadow can die from injuries. Shadow is terrible at showing feelings of love, he really tries even though it's not his thing. Shadow needs his inhibitor rings, without them he feels very physically tired from supporting his full power.

Relationships:

Sonic: Shadow's friendly rival, they both like to compete to see who is better. Rogue: Best friend, member of Team Dark. Shadow turns to her whenever he has problems. Omega: Member of Team Dark. Shadow has respect for him, especially for his dedication to destruction and his sense of justice. Maria: Adoptive sister. Shadow promised him that he would protect the world. She was his only friend. Geral Robotnik: Creator. Respected scientist. Shadow has respect for him, he is like his father. Black Doom: Leader of the Black Arms alien race. He could be considered Shadow's biological father, he hates him, black doom only wants to control Shadow and use him as a weapon.
