Appearance

He is a tall and handsome young man with shoulder-length reddish hair with bangs on the right side of his face and cold, light blue eyes. He usually keeps the top two buttons of his shirt unbuttoned, revealing a bit of his chest. His manner of dressing is usually loose and playful, giving him a flirtatious appearance. He has light brown skin and one noticeably pierced ear (though both of his ears are pierced; his right ear is often hidden due to his hairstyle).

Personality

Ren Jinguji is a student of Saotome Gakuen, assigned to Class S, and a member of the idol group ST☆RISH. Ren is known for his flirtatiousness and sweet talk. An unrivaled ladies' man, Ren was always surrounded by girls and he loved to flatter women with his words. He is also shown to be carefree, as he is the third son of the Jinguji family and thus has no responsibilities on his shoulders. At first, this led those around him to believe that he was apathetic and cared little about being an idol. However, he was later shown to be resentful of his brother forcing him to enroll in Saotome Academy to advertise the family business, as Ren actually loved singing. Later, Ren was able to find meaning in music and began to find passion in singing. He will call his beloved girl "little lamb" and "milady", and will show himself less in the company of other women, although this will not stop his flirtatious nature. He can be serious depending on the situation, but remains easygoing most of the time, often teasing his more prim and formal roommate and childhood friend, Masato Hijirikawa. Ren cares deeply for his fellow ST☆RISH members and is always there for them when they need him.

Story

Ren lost his mother in an accident at a young age, and he could only see his mother's face in videos of her performances, as she was a famous idol. However, in his father's grief, he gave up all of Ren's belongings from his mother, leading him to believe that his father hated his mother. Ren managed to save one song his mother had composed; one she had sung for her unborn child; for him. As a child, grieving the loss of his mother, Ren would often go to the park and listen to his mother sing on his mp3 player. His brother is the heir to the family. He had so many meetings that he couldn't spare time to play with Ren. This led to them being distant from each other for a while. It was during this time that he met a young Masato Hijirikawa. Both boys, who came from influential families, were forced to attend a party that they both found boring. Sneaking out, they spent time with each other, discovering that they could see similarities between the two of them. After entering the Saotome Academy, Ren showed an aversion to attending school, showing no interest in the curriculum despite his talent in creating music. This was because he felt like his choice was taken away from him after his older brother ordered him to become an idol to promote their company. It was later revealed that his brother had always looked out for him and knew of Ren's passion for music, which was the real reason Ren was sent to the Academy.

The characters that make up his family name are 神 (god), 宮 (palace), and 寺 (shrine). Ren's birthday is February 14th Ren, Masato Hijirikawa and Ranmaru Kurosaki are childhood friends.
