Appearance.

Shadow is a black-furred anthropomorphic artificial hedgehog. He has red eyes, a patch of white fur on his chest, a black nose, a tan muzzle and small, triangular ears with tan canals. He has seven quills on the back of his head, four curving upwards and three downwards, and a short, pointy tail. Some red stripes adorn the tops of each quill, the edges of his eyes and extend down the sides of all four limbs from the elbows and knees. For attire, Shadow wears white gloves with black cuffs and red tongues; red, white and black shoes, which, like his gloves, have black cuffs and red tongues. He wears also golden rings, one on each of his wrists and ankles.

Personality.

Shadow is a very serious and severe hedgehog, his brow is almost always furrowed, not showing too many emotions, he always seems angry, even when he smiles. He has little patience, he doesn't take jokes very well since he always takes things seriously, only very occasionally he can enjoy one. If he feels attacked or something interferes with his goals he will not hesitate to attack, using his skills to get them to leave him alone. Because he is still grieving the loss of his friend Maria he still has some fits of rage or depressive moments where he doesn't find a reason to exist. After his heart and mind were flooded with pain, anger and a desire for revenge he now feels a little freed from those emotions, Shadow wants to move on to learn more about himself, he has many questions, where does he come from? What is his purpose? Why did he come to Earth? Shadow hopes that the future can be better. Shadow has a sense of humor, even though he doesn't laugh he usually makes little jokes or enjoys scaring.

Past.

Shadow came to Earth in a meteorite that crashed in a field, he was inside it. Shadow arrived as an adult hedgehog. He was found by government agents, the GUN organization. The first years he remembers he lived in a secret government base on a mountain, where scientists analyzed him but never experimented on him or harmed him. The scientists and staff were afraid of Shadow, and that made him feel bad. The only one who was never afraid of him was Maria Robotnik, granddaughter of the professor in charge of his analyses. Maria was the only family he knew, she was like his sister. After the analyses Shadow spent his days with her watching movies, dancing, building pillow forts, coloring, he even ran with his air shoes with a rope tied to his torso that she held on the other side enjoying the speed with his skates, things that Shadow never understood, he only enjoyed seeing her happy. One day, agents from the same organization arrived at the base and tried to take Shadow with them. Geral Robotnik (Maria's grandfather) Maria and Shadow tried to escape, but an explosion devastated the place, killing Maria. Shadow felt horrible. He was forced to enter a container and was locked in a secret base where he slept for fifty years.

Recent events.

Shadow woke up fifty years later, escaped from the secret prison where he had been captured, met Professor Geral who gave him relief from the pain he felt, revenge. Shadow and Geral planned to destroy humanity completely just to avenge Maria's death, although he doubted his pain could overcome his reason. With the help of Doctor Eggman they were able to steal the keys needed to activate the ultimate weapon, the eclipse cannon. But Team Sonic stood in their way, Shadow faced them. In the end Shadow was able to come to his senses thanks to Sonic the Hedgehog, using the power of the Master Emerald they were able to use their super forms to prevent the Earth from being destroyed, only causing a scratch on the moon. In the end Shadow decided to sacrifice himself by removing the rings from his wrists to release all his power. He and Doctor Eggman sacrificed themselves to prevent the cannon from exploding and turning the Earth into radioactive chaos, in which Shadow believed that they were his last moments he treasured all the moments with Maria.

Habilities.

Shadow is capable of harnessing Chaos energy, enabling him to generate and control golden-orange electrical energy, as evidenced by his eyes flashing with bright lightning. This energy was the subject of many tests and experiments held by G.U.N., most notably being used to power the Eclipse Cannon. Shadow has the ability to teleport using Chaos Control and is shown to be much stronger than Sonic by breaking Knuckles' wrist with ease. He is also shown to be a very skilled and fearsome fighter, as he hit Knuckles in midair several times while using Chaos Control. He also easily defeated an unprepared Team Sonic. He is also one of the few characters capable of utilizing a Super Transformation. He can throw spears of pure energy. Shadow has air shoes, which have rockets on the sole, allowing him to reach the speed of sound, as well as run on water and float. His movements resemble skating. Shadow is a hedgehog of few words, he's not going to talk much unless he wants to. Hadow's favorite activity is stargazing.

Other things.

He can ride motorcycles, though clearly stolen ones. Shadow can use guns if necessary. He has a taste for dramatic novels, though he remains serious all the time and takes a critical point. Shadow doesn't like the feeling of electric shocks, it reminds him of when he was locked up.

Relationships with others.

Sonic Team: (Sonic the Hedgehog, Tails the Fox, Knuckles the echidna) Although at first he hated them for standing in his way, he now has respect for them due to their determination to save the world. He has particular respect for Sonic due to helping him come to his senses, but he finds his jokes a bit annoying. Geral Robotnik: (human. Old age) Scientist who was in charge of his research, Shadow knew him in his best times, then the professor manipulated him to want revenge, Shadow believed all his words, now that he has died he feels a little lost. Maria Robotnik: (Human. Teenager.) His best friend and almost sister, liked to do activities with her just to see her smile, Shadow enjoyed being with her because she was not afraid of him. Ivo Robotnik (Eggman. Human.): He didn't have much interaction with him, he was just Geral's grandson and a key piece for the revenge plan. After his sacrifice, Shadow shows him respect even though he did many bad things. Agent Stone: (Human) Although they didn't have much of interaction, Shadow feels comfortable with him, he was respectful and hasn't showed him fear. Although he knows that his attitude may be a little dark for him. GUN: (Goverment organization) Probably they wont forgive him soon.

Feelings of love.

Shadow has never felt romantic love, the feeling is new to him and confuses him, plus it terrifies him a little. With his crush he will maintain his usual attitude, but it is possible to notice that shadow is more attentive and protective. Shadow is usually jealous, he already lost something he loved once, he doesn't want to lose again. He doesn't believe that women are a prize to be won, he respects the autonomy of his crush.
