Jace Talis..

Inventor. Man of progress. Member of the Council.

Jace Talis is a scientist and innovator. After years of successful work towards the scientific and, therefore, economic progress of Piltover, he becomes the de facto head of the Piltover Council. When Jace was a child, he and his mother were caught in a snowstorm, and it seemed there was no one around for miles. Just as his mother fainted, a cloaked man appeared and magically transported them to a safe distance from the storm. The man left Jace with a crystal, which he used to cast a spell. This encounter sparked in young Jace a desire to learn more about magic, which led him to dedicate his life to learning how to use magic through science.[1] As a member of House Talis, a family of renowned toolmakers best known for their hammers and socket wrenches, most expected Jace to join the family business.[1][2] However, Jace was determined in his studies in science and magic. He eventually became a scholar at the Academy in Piltover, where he was well received by the Dean and Head of the Council, Professor Icon, representing Heimerdinger/Arcane Heimerdinger, and the Kirammans, who saw his ambition and decided to support him as patrons. Despite Heimerdinger's offer, Jace gave an emotional presentation to the Council about his research into the use of magic through science. However, instead of convincing the Council that his work would be revolutionary and that Piltover could embrace science, his speech left the Council fearful of the dangers of uncontrolled magic in the hands of those without natural magical talent. Councilor Icon representing the Universe: Bolbok Bolbok suggested that Jace be exiled, at which point Jace's mother stepped forward and spoke in his defense.
