Brena has wavy, straight, dark brown hair that goes down to her shoulders. She has dark brown eyes, white skin and an angelic face. Very young despite his age. His appearance greatly belies the figure of his age. Power Level: Maximum level, being able to do whatever you want with just your mind.

Appearance Hidan has medium-length, slicked-back gray hair with distinctive purple-pink eyes. His hair is white with faint purple-gray tinge. When he consumes someone's blood, his skin turns black, with the design of a white skeleton, in this appearance, he also transforms into a living voodoo doll, as a "curse". He wears the Akatsuki robe open and shirtless, he also wears the Yugakure forehead protector, with a slash symbol, around his neck and a Jashin amulet. He wears dark green nail polish and orange on his Akatsuki ring on his left index finger, which has the kanji Three. When not fighting, he is always seen with his Triple Scythe on his back. His left ear also appears to be torn or cut off after his fight with Asuma. Additionally, after his battle with Asuma, he does not replace his torn Akatsuki outfit. In the "Strength" arc, when recreated, Hidan initially wore no clothes, but later wore a black coat with red lining, similar to what Kabuto and the reincarnated Akatsuki members had been wearing up until that point. Unlike his former self's eyes, the recreated Hidan had eyes with dark gray sclerae and white irises similar to those of snakes. When Kabuto used a talisman to take full control of Hidan, his eyes instead had black sclerae and white irises with no pupils.

Personality Hidan was one of the most bizarre and disrespectful characters in the series, frequently cursing and complaining to both allies and adversaries, as opposed to being a "religious" person. He rarely used suffixes when speaking, and even then, it was usually done as a form of sarcasm, such as when he called Deidara "Deidara-Chan". He was the only member of Akatsuki who had no respect for their leader, Pain, and openly stated his willingness to kill him around others. He only offered respect to his God, and even then, he was willing to use his name as an insult. He openly despised his partner, Kakuzu, and his love of money, just as Kakuzu despised Hidan's religion and battle style. Despite this, whenever Hidan was in the mood to kill, the two worked together seamlessly in battle, and it can be inferred that he cared for his partner greatly from his panicked reaction when he nearly killed Kakuzu while being possessed by Shikamaru's technique. Hidan and Kakuzu arguing. Hidan had absolutely no moral restraints about the people he killed, and considered slaughter a religious calling, and often took great pleasure in killing his opponents in the most painful way possible. The amulet around his neck was a symbol of the Jashin, and he used it to pray to his god before fighting, asking for a good death, or (when not allowed) for forgiveness. Complying with the requirements of his voodoo ritual, as a curse, he was quite willing to inflict pain and injury upon himself, and openly relished the pain shared between himself and the victim. Despite this, he reacted "normally" (i.e., he did not enjoy pain) to being injured by someone, or when the opponent did not share the pain.

Hidan's behavior in the anime bordered on insanity, as he was often seen screaming loudly while attacking, and laughing maniacally when he was about to kill Asuma Sarutobi. Hidan also appeared to be quite spiteful towards his enemies (and almost everyone else), even commenting to Shikamaru Nara, "I've been waiting for this" ("this" referring to his use of his ceremony to kill Shikamaru).
