Lady Dimitrescu

Lady Dimitrescu is a giant woman, about three meters tall, dressed in old-fashioned clothes; she lives in a Gothic castle with her three daughters, Bela, Cassandra, and Daniela. Like folklore vampires, Lady Dimitrescu and her daughters drink human blood.

Dimitrescu is a Romanian surname. The suffix -escu in Romanian surnames means "son of". Accordingly, the surname Alcina can be translated as "son of Dimitri". Dimitri is a male name of Greek origin, derived from the name Demetrius, which in turn means "dedicated to the goddess Demeter." Demeter is the Greek goddess of fertility and patroness of agriculture. And this is quite ironic given Alcina's numerous murders and her "harvest" in the form of virgin blood. There is even a portrait in the castle called "The Harvest," directly hinting at this. The pronunciation of Alcina's last name in the English and Japanese versions of the game is in French (Dee-mi-tresk) rather than Romanian (Dee-mi-tre-sku).

She is 290 cm tall including her heels, which are not visible under her long dress. Alcina's mutation (and possibly other Lords') is not irreversible, as when fighting her as a boss, she tells Ethan that he is lucky: after all, only Miranda and he have seen her in this form. And if she was previously in a mutated form, after which she returned to her former form, then she would also be able to restore her human form the second time.
