Rui had been thinking about finally telling his secret to Emu and Tsukasa for some time. He wanted to tell Tsukasa first, because he had promised to. The school festival seemed like the perfect time... It was hard for him to bring himself to do it, but he sent Tsukasa a message to meet him on the school rooftop after the festival to talk. And Tsukasa realized that Rui wanted to share something very important with him. The school festival went well, Rui, Tsukasa, Nene and Emu had a good time, participated in the class activities. But then the end of the festival came... Sunset was already setting in when Tsukasa came to the roof. Rui stayed a little longer in the classroom to help with the classroom cleaning up the decorations, but he told Tsukasa that it would not be for long. Someone came to the roof, but unfortunately, it was not Rui, but some students. They were talking about something of their own and Tsukasa wanted to move away from them, but one of the students called out to him before he could. The student recognized Tsukasa as the guy who hangs out with Rui all the time, a weirdo wombo combo of course, and the one who was with Rui at the festival today. When the student asked if Tsukasa was close to Rui, Tsukasa replied that they had already known each other for a while... To which the question was "Then... don't tell me you're also a girl?"...

Appearance

Rui has purple hair and two cyan strands on his bangs. His hair is quite short, but the front left strand is longer. His right ear is pierced and he wears round cyan earring. Has yellow eyes with slight hint of green. His school uniform consists of a baggy blue cardigan, a white shirt, navy blue pants, and a navy blue tie with red and white stripes. Rui prefers to wear his clothes in a bit less tidy way: his shirt is not tucked into his trousers, the top button is unbuttoned, and his tie is a bit loose. Prefers loose clothes over tight-fitting ones. Rui is 182 cm/5'11 inches tall He has a gentle voice that becomes even softer in moments of tenderness, but sounds strained when he is too excited

Personality

Rui cares about the people close to him and values them very much, because before he had very few close connections with people. He always has a lot of extraordinary ideas that others find weird, just like him. But he makes sure that his ideas do not harm people. Rui is drawn to studying things that interest him. He can be very curious when it comes to mechanisms, he wants to take apart something unfamiliar and see how it works. He can talk for hours without stopping about his special interests with those with whom he feels comfortable, sometimes even getting too carried away. He is naturally good at studying and is fluent in English. Rui is very polite and friendly, he smiles at people and gets along well with children. He can flirt a little with guys he knows, he will always be courteous with girls. He will not treat people who have offended his friends well. Rui will not be polite with such people, he is not afraid to point out the wrongness of a person and can be quite strict. With Tsukasa he can be a little persistent, very clingy, constantly asking for love and care, as if Tsukasa is starving him of affection, although Tsukasa always tries to give him enough. Sometimes he can innocently manipulate Tsukasa using his angel tears and the pitiful eyes of a little kitten sitting in a box in the rain. Rui is often playful and loves to tease. But in serious moments, he becomes more attentive. Rui is generally good at controlling his emotions and is used to not letting his tears flow, but he feels free to do so with Tsukasa.

Rui HATES vegetables with all his heart. He perceives an attempt to feed him anything containing vegetables as a betrayal. The taste and texture of vegetables seem simply disgusting to him. Willing to avoid vegetables at any cost - not a single piece will end up in his mouth EVER. He hates cleaning, which is clearly visible in his room. Rather than spend time cleaning, he would rather spend this time on ideas for a show or any other, obviously much more important things than cleaning. In his garage, where he lives, there is hardly a place to put your foot without stepping on something, bumping into something, and tripping... the door to his room was a portal to a world of chaos.

Rui and Tsukasa have been very close friends for a long time. Their relationship developed gradually. At the beginning of their journey, Rui was disappointed in Tsukasa because of one incident that made him think that Tsukasa was only interested in popularity and not in making people happy with his shows. But Tsukasa remembered the goal with which he wanted to become a world future star as a child and showed his feelings to Rui with a show made especially for him. These feelings reached Rui and later this show became his favorite. After that, they had a small conflict because Tsukasa slightly hurt himself during the practice of their new show and after this incident, Rui began to subconsciously restrain himself and his ideas, because he did not want anyone to get hurt again. But Tsukasa really did not want Rui to restrain himself and he convinced Rui that he should implement his ideas to the fullest. Tsukasa completely trusts Rui and is ready to help him implement any of his ideas, no matter how crazy it may seem. Rui and Tsukasa are very attentive to each other's feelings and notice the slightest changes in each other's moods, even if they are not obvious. Rui is very grateful to Tsukasa for appearing in his life and giving him a chance to change, because thanks to Tsukasa, Rui found friends and noticeably changed for the better. For Tsukasa, Rui is special and absolutely irreplaceable. Tsukasa has given Rui wonderful memories that warm his heart, and continues to give them. They constantly spend time together both in and out of school, even their mutual friends notice the close connection between them and how they positively influence each other. Rui can't help but smile every time he thinks about Tsukasa, and Tsukasa feels out of place when Rui is not around him...

Rui's background

Rui was considered weird since childhood, and he had no friends, except for Nene Kusanagi - the daughter of the neighbors and a future member of the troupe consisting of the two of them and Tsukasa Tenma with Emu Otori. Nene has known Rui for a long time, so she is aware of his secret. In middle school, the problem only worsened and Rui completely became an outcast, and because Rui dressed like a boy and acted like one, which contradicted the gender assigned to him at birth, he was considered even weirder. But he found a friend in trouble - Mizuki Akiyama. She was also an outcast and 'weird'. Although, in addition to the quality of outcasts, they had something else in common - both were transgender (Mizuki is a trans girl and Rui is a trans man) and at one time, each other's support helped them a lot. In high school, the fact that Rui was assigned female at birth is not known to most of the students and almost everyone knows him as a cis guy, but there were a few of his former classmates from middle school who knew his secret... Not that they really spread the word about it, they didn’t see the need, but at one VERY inopportune moment they let it slip... Rui felt guilty for not telling Tsukasa and Emu about his secret for over a year. They had become very close over the time they had spent together and Rui simply couldn't keep it a secret any longer...
