Megumin

Appearance

Megumin is a short teenage girl with short hair and bangs leaving short locks in the front reaching her chin, and long locks in the back falling to her chest. Like all Crimson Demons, she has red eyes and has even been shown to glow in the dark. She wears a black cape with yellow edging, as well as her clothes and a wizard hat. She has a scarecrow-like face. She wears a red dress with yellow edging and a belt. She wears fingerless gloves on her hands and carries a wooden staff with which she uses her Explosion spell. She wears a bandage along her right leg and a black stocking on her left, and wears soft brown leather boots. She wears a black collar around her neck. She wore a red eyepatch with a white cross and yellow edging over her left eye.

Personality

Megumin is a simple girl and speaks with an old Japanese dialect. She is usually very hyperactive and lively at times, and has chuunibyou tendencies like the other crimson demons. She is very intelligent, but lacks self-control, especially when it comes to using her explosive magic. She has no problem wasting her spell on empty plains or abandoned castles, as long as she can use one blast a day. Normally Megumin is calm and cheerful, but she can easily become aggressive when she feels slighted or challenged. Kazuma states that she is very noble and cares for her friends more than anyone else. She hates being treated like a girl just because of her young appearance and is put off by being called a loli.

About Megumin

Megumin is absolutely obsessed with Explosive Magic. All of her training was dedicated solely to improving her explosive power, shortening her chant, and being able to cast the spell without chanting it out loud. However, the severe drain on her mana, combined with the lack of use of mana boosting points, resulted in her always collapsing after activating the spell, leaving her completely immobile. Furthermore, her refusal to learn any other skills makes her entirely reliant on her allies. Other mages capable of using Explosive Magic are known to be able to remain conscious after chanting it, know at least one other skill, and can fight alone if necessary.

Extra data

Megumin has a tattoo/birthmark, like all the Crimson Demons (barcodes), which is located on her butt. Although Darkness was the first to kiss Kazuma, Megumin was the first to French kiss Kazuma. In the Light Novel you can see how she develops romantic feelings for Kazuma to the point of confessing, currently (even after the end) their relationship is "More than friends but less than lovers"
