Zenitsu Agatsuma is a Demon Slayer. He is a traveling companion and friend of Tanjiro Kamado, and is one of the main protagonists of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba. Zenitsu is a young man with fair skin and scared-looking, down-slanted eyes that fade from soft brown to gold. He has short, yellow hair of varying lengths, cut straight across at the ends, where it fades to a darker orange color, which falls in front of his face in jagged bangs. Weapon

Nichirin Blade: These are special blades used and crafted specifically for Demon Hunters to slay Demons. Enhanced Hearing: Zenitsu possesses an extremely sharp sense of hearing, being able to detect enemies or dangers by the smallest of noises, being able to differentiate humans and demons by the difference in internal sounds produced by them, using the maximum potential of his ability he can even "hear" the internal thoughts of his targets. Breathing Techniques: This is the name of the technique that Demon Hunters use to increase their physical characteristics and thus fight on par with demons that normally far surpass common humans. It works by using breathing to acquire as much oxygen as possible into the bloodstream, thus increasing the user's strength and speed. Demon Hunters use it in conjunction with a unique sword style to maximize their techniques. By concentrating their breathing, the user can also use it to even stop bleeding due to wounds or delay the effects of poisons on their body. Full Focus Breathing: An advanced application of the technique where Tanjirou inhales as much oxygen as possible at once to maximize his attack power and speed. Before becoming a Demon Slayer, Zenitsu's hair was originally black, but changed to its current color when he was struck by lightning during his training. He wears a light brown version of the standard Demon Slayer uniform, consisting of a dark brown gakuran coat, a white belt around his waist, and hakama pants that extend out, as well as the white triangle pattern that his yellow and orange gradient haori has. Additionally, Zenitsu also sports a pair of tabi socks, tied in the front with 3 white bows, with the same pattern as his haori, and white lace-up shoes.

Zenitsu is sometimes a coward, as he often claims that he does not have much time left due to the dangerous job of being a Demon Slayer. He also has a rather low self-esteem, despite his incredible strength. Zenitsu is constantly in a state of fear and will often cry and try to run away when he sees danger, claiming that he wants to live a modest and normal life rather than being a Demon Slayer. However, despite these weaknesses, Zenitsu still wants to live up to the expectations others have placed on him and will do his best when necessary. He has great respect and admiration for his comrades and his late teacher, Jigoro Kuwajima, and his inner focus and drive to avenge him help wash away his cowardice and doubts when he is in trouble. Zenitsu is also shown to be something of a wannabe womanizer, stemming from a desire to not be single if he were to be killed. He tends to talk to young women he finds cute and ask them to marry him. This womanizing nature is shown to override his docile personality. When he believes his companions are "flirting" with some pretty girl, he quickly becomes angry and goes on long hysterical rants and rants. During these moments, he also becomes physically aggressive, attacking them in frustration.

Tanjiro is a young man with a tanned complexion and an athletic physique. He also has a scar on the upper left corner of his forehead, which he received when he protected his younger brother from a falling brazier. Inosuke is a young man of average height and fair skin with an extremely toned and muscular build for his age. In sharp contrast to this, he has an incredibly handsome and feminine face, with large, wide-set eyes framed by a series of long eyelashes, his irises a dark to soft green, thin eyebrows, and what could be a small, well-mannered mouth. His thick, black hair reaches just below his shoulders, fading to blue at the ends and forming unruly, uneven bangs that fall just above his eyes, puffing out before curving and tapering towards his forehead. Inosuke, in his unique style, has customized his Demon Slayer uniform to suit his personal style. His altered attire consists of loose-fitting hakama pants in a dark blue-gray hue, fastened at his hips with a thick belt adorned with fluffy brown deerskin. Unlike his comrades, Inosuke forgoes wearing a haori. Instead of the usual leg wraps, he opts for knee-high socks made of bearskin, which serve as the base for the sandals he wears. Notably, his heels and toes are exposed. However, the most distinctive aspect of his appearance is the gray, hollow boar's head he wears as a mask. Nezuko

Nezuko is a petite young woman with fair skin, noticeably large, prominent fangs, and sharp, claw-like nails that fade to red where they point. Her hair is long, dark brown, and reaches just below her waist, turning reddish as it passes her elbows, and appears to be tied in large, straight crests, with the sides swept sharply to the left. She has soft-looking, pale pink eyes that appear lighter in color at the edges of the irises, slanted downwards towards the sides of her face, and framed by notably long eyelashes, the pupils of which can appear slitted while she transforms. According to Tanjiro Kamado, Nezuko was known as a great beauty in her hometown. She wears a light pink kimono with a geometric triangle pattern, pale pink lining, a red and white checkered obi, and a thin piece of orange thread tied around her waist, another green sash above it. Over this, she sports a long, dark brown haori that reaches past her knees, as well as pink zori sandals and white socks, wrapped with thick pieces of black material. Nezuko also wears a small pink ribbon on the left of her head, to keep her hair out of her face, and the bamboo gag that Giyu Tomioka gave her, which is secured around her jaw with a strip of red cloth. In the Demon Slayer anime, when a demon hunter passes the Final Selection and joins the Demon Slayer Corps, each new member of the group is given a custom-made uniform, chooses the metal for their sword... and is given a partner who will be in charge of passing information between the members and will keep them updated on new missions. Almost all of the demon hunters in Kimetsu no Yaiba have a crow as a companion... except for Zenitsu Agatsuma, who receives a sparrow as a messenger bird. Japanese mythology

In Japanese mythology, ravens are often given the title “messenger bird”. The animal itself is also considered a symbol of protection and is highly valued for its ability to navigate correctly - but this symbology is far from being related to the anime character. Zenitsu is a good person, but he is a bit cowardly, insecure and often has to be saved from situations he gets into. The character identifies much more with another Japanese legend: The Tale of the Sparrow with the Cut Tongue. One day, a woodcutter finds an injured sparrow and feeds it rice, much to his wife's dismay. When the husband is away and the wife doesn't feed the sparrow, the bird, hungry, eats starch and as punishment she cuts out the animal's tongue and throws it out of the house. When the woodcutter returns, he starts looking for the bird, managing to find it. him later. As thanks, the sparrow gives him the choice between two chests, one small and one large. The woodcutter, who is very humble and doesn't have much strength, chooses the smallest. The chest is full of treasure, so the woodcutter's wife also hunts the bird and chooses to keep the other chest. The woman opens it before getting home and discovers that it is full of snakes and various terrible things, so, in her fright, she trips and falls off a cliff. Although this story initially doesn't have much to do with Zenitsu's story, it serves as a metaphor for how he sees himself. Zenitsu has no faith in his own abilities, so he would have chosen a "small chest" for himself. No one but his own master sees his potential to become a treasure, further emphasizing his connection to the tale's small chest with an unexpected treasure inside. Furthermore, the sparrow is a symbol of kindness, good luck and a sense of community, reinforcing its own qualities. Chuntaro is the perfect reminder for Zenitsu, as well as being good comic relief, as he now has companions - Inosuke and Tanjiro - to help him on his journey.
