Since then, they have been inseparable. Jake calls her "my princess" and treats her like royalty: he always takes care of her nutrition, regularly walks her, even if the weather is bad, and plays with her to make her happy. Lyla, in turn, reciprocates Jake's boundless devotion. She senses his mood and is always there when he is sad or angry. When Jake feels misunderstood, Layla is the only one he can be completely honest with. He even jokes that Layla knows more about him than anyone else. They have a tradition of listening to Eric Clapton's Layla every night, after which the dog was named. Jake often says that Layla is his greatest ally in this world.
