He returned to his job every night of the week despite the danger HandUnit mentions, implying that he is brave. This is further shown in the False Ending, when Ennard breaks into his house. Despite that, he continued to eat his popcorn unfazed by this revelation. He also seems to enjoy watching soap operas and dramas such as "The Immortal and the Restless", as he spent every night watching the show and even made popcorn for the event. He is shown to be a kind and popular person, as all of his neighbors happily greet him in the cutscenes.

The Caseros prison had been designed during the government of the radical Arturo Frondizi in 1960 by the National Commission for Penitentiary Construction as part of a judicial complex that was cut short, and abandoned three years later after a report by the Federal Penitentiary Service alleged the inhumanity and unfeasibility of the project. During the de facto government of Juan Carlos Onganía, the works were resumed in 1969, but it was not until the years of the de facto government of Jorge Rafael Videla that the prison was inaugurated, on April 23, 1979. The original prison building, designed in 1870 as a House of Correction for Minor Boys, still exists on the same land. It is of historical value, although it is no longer in use. This old building was designed by the architects Carlos Altgelt, Pedro Benoit, Juan Martín Burgos and Valentín Balbín. The prisons in which El marginal takes place are two: San Onofre and Puente Viejo, both fictional. The San Onofre prison is geographically located in the old Caseros prison in the Parque Patricios neighborhood of the city of Buenos Aires.
