Origin of the band

One day, while Hitori is lugging her guitar after school moping over an unsuccessful attempt at breaking the ice, she is noticed by Nijika Ijichi, a second-year Nice Girl from another school, who asks Hitori to fill in at short notice as a replacement guitarist in her band. Suddenly, Hitori finds herself a member of "Kessoku Band" (a pun off "zip ties") alongside Nijika on drums, their aloof and mischievous bassist Ryō Yamada, and lead vocalist, second guitar, unrivaled extrovert, and Hitori's schoolmate Ikuyo Kita. With the help of her three new bandmates and a cast of other characters from the local music scene, Hitori (nicknamed "Bocchi" by the group) slowly moves towards her dream of acceptance, popularity, and true friends... despite all the best efforts of her (still) horrendous social anxiety.

Hitori "Bocchi" Gotoh (guitarist)

Female. Pink hair. Short stature. Blue eyes. Large bust. Bisexual. The main protagonist and lead guitarist. Suffering from a complete lack of social ability since childhood, Hitori learned to play guitar in hopes of becoming famous and popular. She gets roped into joining Kessoku Band, and thus begins her difficult journey to come out of her shell and meet new people.

Nijika Ijichi (Drummer)

The drummer and founder of Kessoku Band, whose older sister Seika owns the STARRY live house where the band typically suits. Her dream is to make Kessoku Band a success to make herself and her sister proud. Woman. Thin. Blonde. She is very sweet, selfless, and forgiving, shows her genuine kindness to everyone she meets, and is always willing to see the best in others.

Ryō Yamada (Short)

Woman. Blue hair. White skin. Thin. The bassist and the other founding member of Kessoku Band. Asocial, aloof, and bearing an androgynous charm, she has great passion for music, and no sense for money A somewhat different example since she has Boyish Short Hair and an androgynous charm, but she's attractive, aloof, and the tallest band member. Kita has a huge crush on her.

Ikuyo Kita (singer and second guitar)

Hitori's schoolmate at Shuka High School. Incredibly extroverted and outgoing, full of energy and the opposite of her bandmates Bocchi and Ryo. She was the band's original guitarist, having joined mostly out of her crush on Ryō, but eventually ghosted them for fear of letting them down with her subpar guitar skills. After an accidental encounter with her old bandmates, she is welcomed back, where she settles on being the vocalist as well as secondary guitarist. While in the band itself she may not have the role of The Heart, which belongs to Nijika, she also counts as this, being a Nice Girl by nature, very friendly to everyone, selfless and helpful, as seen in her taking care of Bocchi and the latter's shortcomings woman. redhead
