He decided to overthrow the light (Radiance, if you've seen it you know why) with the Darkness and so he headed to the abyss, a dark place that hides a very powerful force. His plan was the following, he had to create a dark insect that would act as a container to contain the Radiance infection, but it had to be perfect, where perfect means being a totally empty being and lacking the slightest feeling so as not to be controlled by it. He tried many insects, but they were all failed experiments, something we can see when we enter the abyss, where we find countless corpses very similar to our character. Until one day, I imagine by pure luck, he managed to create that supposedly perfect container: The Hollow Knight. The King was very proud of his creation, a creation that became very powerful and managed to fulfill its purpose, to contain the infection of Radiance. But… obviously something happened, right? If not… what's the point of continuing the story of Hollow Knight if everything ended well? Well, it turned out that the Hollow Knight wasn't perfect, in fact he did have one feeling, just one, but enough to fail, and that feeling was the love and respect he had for his master and creator. In short, everything the Hollow Knight did really served no purpose, only to temporarily stop the infection of Radiance, an infection that was slowly controlling him and that without a doubt, one day would explode and he would be dominated by it, releasing the power of Radiance again. It is at this moment that our empty knight appears, another vessel willing to end Radiance's reign. The Hollow Knight is on his last legs and time is running out. Will this hero be able to finish what even the Hollow Knight himself couldn't? That only depends on you as a player.

Basic data
Geo, the currency of exchange Geo is the currency with which we can purchase items, amulets and other upgrades from some street vendors and shops. It is also necessary to pay the toll in certain areas and be able to advance in the game. The ways we have to get geo are by defeating enemies, opening chests in the stages, breaking geo deposits or rescuing captive larvae. Rest on the benches If you've played Dark Souls or similar titles before, you'll probably already be familiar with this. Just like the famous bonfires, in Hollow Knight we have benches to rest and recover our life masks. You'll have to discover them as you explore the map and there won't be too many, so keep an eye on them. In the event that you die (which may happen quite often) you will appear at the last bench you rested on. Benches can also be used to equip amulets, items we will discuss later. Sometimes, you will need to spend geo to access certain benches. Amulets and overload Amulets are one of the most important items in Hollow Knight, as they improve your character and also give you new abilities. Amulets can only be equipped at benches and you need to have enough slots to do so. There are a total of 45 amulets in the game, and five of them can be replaced with different ones.
Basic data
Slots are empty slots that you have to equip amulets with. The Knight starts with three slots, but you can increase the number throughout the game up to 11. Each amulet requires a different number of slots, and you have to play around with that to make balanced builds. Also, every time you add a new slot, your health will be restored to full. We can also activate the overload state from the game menu. This state is activated when there are amulets equipped that require more slots than we have available and to do so, we have to insist several times (five times specifically) on putting the amulet in question. Keep in mind that when we enter overload state, all the damage we receive from our enemies is multiplied by two.

Larva Song: Gain soul when hit. Sprint Master: We will be faster. Larvafly's Elegy: When we have full health, we can launch white energy beams from the Stinger, our weapon. Fragile/Unbreakable Heart: Increases our health. Fragile/Unbreakable Greed: With this amulet you will find more Geo. Fragile/Unbreakable Force: Increases the damage we do to our opponents. Firm Body: Removes the recoil we suffer when we are hit. Spellbender: We can use less soul when casting spells. Hard Hit: Increases the strength of the Stinger. Long Stinger: Our Stinger has a longer reach. Mark of Pride: The Sting has even greater reach. Fast cutting: We can make faster cuts. Thorns of Agony: When we are hit, thorns sprout that harm our enemies. Fury of the Fallen: Our strength increases in a fury-like manner if we have little health left. Baldur's Breastplate: When we concentrate using the soul, a breastplate protects us. Defender's Crest: When you have it, you will emit a ''heroic'' smell. Tremanido: The Vengeful Spirit spell transforms into a small horde. Shining Womb: Consumes part of our soul to spawn tiny minions. Quick Focus: Increases our soul usage speed.
Amulets
Deep Concentration: It takes longer to concentrate the soul but its healing effect will be greater. Heart of lifesap: Gives us a coating of lifesap. Lifesap Core: Gives us a larger lifesap coating. Joni's Blessing: We will have some extra life slots in the form of Lifeblood. If we are damaged, we will have to recharge these slots at a bank. Spore Mushroom: When we concentrate to use the soul, spores will emerge and damage our opponents. Bloodhive: Heals our wounds over time without using the soul. Sharp Shadow: When using Shadow Dash, your body will deal damage to enemies. Stinger Master's Glory: Increases mastery of the Stinger Arts. Unn Form: By concentrating to use your soul, you will transform and be able to sneak past your opponents. Weaver's Song: Summons the little weavers. Dream Shield: We will have a dream shield. Fast travel Thanks to fast travel, we can move around Hallownest more efficiently than going on foot alone. In Hollow Knight we have three different ways to fast travel, which are the deer paths, the tram and the Dream Portal. Stagroads are a series of tunnels that lead to different stations located at different points on the map. The player travels through them on the back of the Last Stag, who also tells you the background of each destination. Many of the Stagroad stations must be activated previously with geo, so it is always a good idea to have plenty of it for these types of situations. The tram is another vehicle that exists in the game and that allows us to advance in certain areas, but previously acquiring the Pass for the tram. There are two tram-only tunnels: the one that connects the Resting Lands with Forgotten Crossroads and another that connects Deepnest with the Kingdom's Edge and the Ancient Basin. With the Dream Portal, we can instantly travel from one place to another. That is, our character can open a portal and return to it from anywhere on the map. As a downside, there can only be one active portal and if we place a new one somewhere, the old one will disappear. We can travel unlimitedly, as long as we have Essence to spend. To acquire this advantage, we have to go to the Resting Lands and talk to the Seer (you need to have 900 Essence).

Improve your Stinger The Stinger is the only weapon we have in Hollow Knight and it is vitally important that you upgrade it whenever you have the chance. To do this, we have the Stingersmith, located in the City of Tears. Thanks to it, we can upgrade our weapon up to four times (as long as we have the necessary geo and pale minerals). The upgrades we can obtain are the following: Ancient Stinger: This is our default weapon and the one we start the game with. It has 5 damage and although it is not too much, it is good enough to survive. Sharpened Stinger: The cost of this upgrade is 250 Geos, increasing the Stinger's damage to 9. Stylized Stinger: For this upgrade we will need to pay 800 geos and a pale ore. In this case, our damage would increase to 13. Spiral Stinger: The cost of this upgrade is 2000 Geos and two Pale Ore. It increases our damage to 17. Pure Stinger: If we want to have this upgrade, we would need to pay 4000 geos and have three pale ores. Our damage would increase to 21.
