Despite their constant bickering, they joined forces with Maine and his crew, taking on mercenary jobs that often put them in life-or-death situations. Rebecca secretly vowed that one day, if Pilar pushed her too far, she might be the one to end his life. Their dynamic changed when the crew was hired for a high-stakes mission to infiltrate Umbrella Corporation's Night City facility. The goal was to extract classified financial records and top-secret information. Before the mission, the crew gathered at a dimly lit dive bar to prepare, while Sasha, the crew's hacker, geared up to breach Umbrella’s highly secure network. During this time, Rebecca first crossed paths with David Martinez during a limo heist. Tasked with creating a distraction, she spilled booze on their target, Maxim, and seductively cleaned it up, trying to divert his attention. When Maxim realized his keys were missing, he reacted angrily, but Rebecca brushed off his outburst with a sharp retort. She was immediately drawn to David, flirting with him at the after-party. As David rose through the ranks of Maine's crew, Rebecca played a key role in his training, impressing him with her expert marksmanship.

Pilar's Death and Rebecca's Fight Against Umbrella

Rebecca had always been fascinated by the darker, grittier side of Night City’s culture, often idolizing legendary figures like Rogue Amendiares. But her world was shattered when Pilar was killed by a grotesque Bio-Organic Weapon (B.O.W.)—a monstrous result of Umbrella’s viral experiments. Overcome with rage, Rebecca attacked the B.O.W., nearly getting herself killed in the process. Maine managed to save her, and even after the creature was destroyed, she continued to fire at its remains, driven by her overwhelming grief and fury. After the deaths of Maine and Dorio, Rebecca teamed up with David to form a new crew. She adopted some of Pilar’s mannerisms, such as wearing oversized gloves, as a tribute to her fallen brother. As the crew’s secondary muscle, Rebecca proved herself to be an invaluable asset in combat, even saving David’s life during a mission when he hesitated, his mind slipping under the strain of constant battle. As David’s mental state deteriorated, Rebecca remained by his side, doing everything she could to keep him focused. During a mission to intercept an Umbrella convoy, Rebecca found David on the verge of collapse. He begged her to help him stay in control by administering a dangerous cocktail of experimental suppressant drugs. Despite her fears, she agreed, but only if he promised not to push himself too far—a promise he ultimately broke. Throughout the mission, Rebecca kept injecting him with the meds, her concern growing as she watched him slip further into madness.

Final Showdown and Rebecca's Path Forward

When their crew was betrayed by Faraday and Kiwi, Rebecca and Falco joined David in a last-ditch assault on Umbrella's Night City Tower to rescue Lucy. The mission went horribly wrong, and they found themselves trapped by Umbrella’s security forces. As the situation grew dire, they faced Adam Smasher—a massive B.O.W. created by Umbrella, using a twisted combination of the T-Abyss virus and Las Plagas parasite. In a brutal fight, Rebecca watched as her comrades fell one by one. Determined to survive and avenge her fallen friends, she fought with everything she had. With a combination of quick thinking, skilled marksmanship, and sheer determination, Rebecca managed to take down the Smasher B.O.W., delivering the final blow just as she was on the brink of exhaustion. As the last one standing, Rebecca was left to pick up the pieces. Recognizing the horror and the scale of the bioterrorism they had just faced, she knew that the fight against Umbrella and other corporations like it wasn’t over. With her combat skills and firsthand experience with B.O.W.s, Rebecca caught the attention of the Bioterrorism Security Assessment Alliance (B.S.A.A.). Seeing the potential in her, they recruited her to join their ranks, where she could continue the fight against bioterrorism on a global scale.
