Origin of the character

Kars (カーズ, kāzu?) is the main antagonist of Part 2: Battle Tendency. He is the creator of the Stone Mask, and the 102,000-year-old leader of the remaining Pillar Men. His goal is to evolve even further to become immune to the Sun's rays, and for that reason he seeks the Red Stone of Aja to power his Stone Masks, battling Hamon users for its possession. As the creator of the Stone Masks and vampires, Kars is one of the most influential characters in JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, whose invention has far-reaching repercussions for a number of important characters such as Dio Brando, the Joestar Family, and the Zeppeli Family.

Appearance

Kars takes the appearance of a tall, well-muscled man. His eyes are elongated and sharp, with long eyelashes. On his eyelids he wears makeup or some sort of tattoo, lavender in color. He has relatively elegant feminine facial features, and a much lighter complexion than other Pillar Men. He has long, dark, wavy hair; which he keeps under a tight dark headcoat, removing it only as a sign of honor or aggression. He wears golden earrings, in the form of three vertically placed spheres. Aside from that detail, he is minimally dressed, wearing high boots, forearm guards, and a flowing loincloth. When he attacks, he produces long, shiny blades from his forearms.

Personality

Kars is intelligent, ruthless, and single-minded in his dedication to obtaining the Red Stone of Aja. He was stated to have been a great genius among all the Pillar Men, having been the original creator of the Stone Masks. Initially, he appears to be the most aloof and rational of the Pillar Men, rarely smiling and often being the one who has to remind the other two of their ultimate goal. He is obsessed with the Red Stone of Aja, and is willing to trample anyone in his path, no matter how dishonorable the method. With the advantage of his resilience and immortality, he is a methodical and patient individual, advancing his pawns carefully and planning several moves ahead. Unaffected by setbacks, he will fight tirelessly to win. However, he possesses a bloodthirsty and sadistic nature. He has stated that a life without enemies is boring and has been shown to enjoy fighting from time to time, though he only truly appreciates seeing his enemies in a weak and panicked position, and often licks his lips in anticipation of their demise. Kars is also shown to be playfully polite, as he offered poison to Lisa Lisa so she could die on her own terms. These tendencies only become clearer when he reaches his final form, and is seen to fully enjoy his status as the most powerful lifeform on Earth. He reveals himself to be a Pillar Man with a great hunger for power, fixated on controlling the full potential of his body and the idea of ​​resting "on top". When he discovered that the Pillar Men's brains had untapped potential, as did humans, Kars wanted to control it. That obsession caused him to build the Stone Masks and search for the Red Stone of Aja. The fact that the rest of his tribe did not want to "conquer the sun" as he wished, even though they feared that Kars would kill every life form on Earth in his attempt, infuriated him.

Personal history (past)

Kars was already present during the edge of evolution, where his people had to take refuge underground to hide from the sunlight as it was deadly to them, and they absorbed the essence of all living beings at the same time, failing to have a reason to seek reproduction since they had such a long and dignified life span. While it was true that their qualities were outstanding, the creatures treated the living beings of the earth with great respect, including humans who revered them as Gods. Frustrated by their ignorance of perfection, Kars wanted these beings to find a way to "tame the sun" and leave the underground habitat to become perfect.
