He is a kind and sincere person who often seems like a child due to his restlessness and overflowing energy (similar to Hinata). Although he usually has a problem with mood swings, and many of the things that happen to him can either motivate him to the max, or generate the opposite effect and make him fall into an irreversible depression. This has clearly affected his performance in most of his matches, to which he himself is classified as a "naive" being. In any case, he is someone greatly admired by his teammates and respected among his rivals due to his skills and hunger for glory. He is proud to be the star of his team, Fukurōdani Academy, even putting on airs of superiority over other stars, believing himself to be "The Strongest". Whether he is training, or in the middle of a match, he usually makes jokes about everything, and acts dramatically in certain situations. Despite being someone very compatible with other people and getting along with many people, he is sometimes ignorant and does not notice the discomfort that others present, as was the case with Tsukishima. Another outstanding point about his personality is the effect he usually has on the public when he plays, as he is able to turn the entire atmosphere of the stadium in his favor with his plays. This is described by Sugawara as something extremely unpleasant.
