Persona Attributes

personality

Jean-Pierre Polnareff is a boastful but noble and benevolent Frenchman. The most characteristic feature of Polnareff is his honor. In his first appearance, he purposely baffles himself by explaining his abilities and fighting his opponent Abdul in an area more suitable for battle. Polnareff's honor is such that even under Dio's control, he refuses to do something as dishonorable as ambushing someone. Having adopted a chivalrous mindset, Polnareff does not want to run away from a fight or use dishonest tactics, although he can be persuaded if he fights an opponent he deeply hates, like Vanilla Ice or Dio. Similarly, Polnareff seems arrogant and can be quite impulsive. He is very proud of his Silver Chariot, and for good reason, as he has trained hard with it, but his overconfidence unfortunately means that he is ill-equipped to deal with cowardly stands in his way, as he does not expect their moves. Polnareff has trouble seeing his own flaws, and he thinks of himself better than he really is, for example, once noting the carelessness of throwing a lit cigarette butt on the ground, a cigarette that he threw, and which caused a fire. During his journey, Polnareff often argues with his companions or runs into different people he meets. Initially, he also treated Abdul badly, because instead of fighting, he ran away from Dio and had an argument that broke off his relationship with him. Similarly, Polnareff attacked Iggy during their first meeting, and their two personalities clashed violently.

personality

Polnareff is also the least serious member of the group. He is perhaps the one who chats the most with his companions, casually joking with Kakein, Joseph and even Jotaro. Being very extroverted, he has no problem expressing joy or sadness, so he is the most compassionate in the group, being the one who mourns his comrades openly. This trait prompted the team not to reveal to him that Abdul had survived, as they were afraid that he would reveal the secret. Polnareff is a little easily distracted and constantly finds a way to cheer up: for example, he jokes about sign language with Kakein while the submarine they were in was sunk, wants to try homemade baby food from Joseph and asks the djinn Judgment to make him a comic book artist more than Disney. In fact, Polnareff often mentions pop culture icons such as Tom and Jerry or the Exorcist. He may be unreasonable, but in battle he shows amazing intelligence, strategy and instinct. Polnareff imagines himself to be a lady's man. This is partly due to mild narcissism, when he often considers himself a handsome man and is especially proud of his hair. A woman's good looks are always enough to distract him from even the most serious questions, which led Joseph to say that Polnareff was thinking with his crotch. Indeed, even his infant self was already happy to swim with a beautiful woman. Usually a very astute fighter, capable of sniffing out Devo, Chuck and Alessi, he can't seem to imagine that a woman would ever be evil, never suspecting Nana or Enya when meeting them. Polnareff is very friendly with women, gives Nana love advice and tries to start a relationship with Enya. As a "sophisticated" person, Polnareff does not tolerate dirty places, especially dirty toilets or those that do not meet his standards.

personality

Interestingly, Polnareff's best friends during the course of the plot are Abdul and Iggy, whom he couldn't stand when they first met. In fact, no character mourns the death of their companions, as Polnareff does, and no other character seeks to avenge them. In the Golden Wind, Polnareff has matured significantly and has become a serious and purposeful person. His experience allows him to offer much-needed advice to Giorno Giovanna and others in the fight against the Diavolo. Having lost his legs and become disabled, Polnareff became even too serious, comparing with his younger version.

Stand Silver Chariot

Externally, Silver Chariot looks like a thin robot-like humanoid, dressed in silver medieval armor, armed with a rapier with a guard. The stand itself is thin, but it has heavy armor with spikes on the shoulder and elbow pads. There is a jewel in the forehead of the armor helmet, and several protrusions protecting the mouth and cheeks. In the Golden Wind, as a result of the user losing their limbs, the corresponding parts of the Silver Chariot are replaced with metal prostheses. Silver Chariot is a special combat stand with a close range. He presents the Tarot card "Chariot", which symbolizes invasion and victory. Silver Chariot is a very powerful short—range stand that primarily fights with the rapier it is equipped with. He is very fast and accurate, but the armor protecting the stand slows him down. All of his powers directly help the stand in combat, but his use is limited elsewhere. It is an incredibly agile stand capable of attacking enemies with swings and rapier strikes before the enemy can react. He can also use this dexterity along with his rapier to defend and repel attacks aimed at him or his user. Silver Chariot usually does not deviate from Polnareff, but still has the ability to move a few meters away from him to attack. Silver Chariot has a clear weakness: it cannot see what its user does not see, and makes it weak if Polnareff is in the blind spot in any way. Silver Chariot is an incredibly fast stand, as it can appear in several places at the same time due to the fact that it moves at a speed greater than the human eye can process, and creates illusory afterimages. However, the stand is burdened with its armor and must drop it to reach full speed. Even though most of the Silver Chariot's strength is in its amazing speed, it still possesses great destructive power, being able to instantly dissect solid rock.

Stand Silver Chariot

The strength of the stand is depicted inconsistently, at first it is shown that it is able to lift Polnareff against Muhammad Abdul, but then it turned out that it is not strong enough to slowly push its user towards Vanilla Ice. The speed of the Silver Chariot is perhaps matched only by its accuracy. Having trained his stand for several years, Polnareff has sufficient control over the movements of the Silver Chariot to be able to conduct a general fight like an experienced swordsman, punching a bullet or twirling several coins and fireballs in one blow when they align.

Silver Chariot's abilities

Hora Hora is one of the main attacks of Silver Chariot. It consists in the fact that Silver Chariot strikes fast and accurate blows with its rapier, thereby piercing people or destroying objects. The strangest feature of the Silver Chariot is that it is dressed in a heavy suit of silver armor. The armor reduces the speed of the stand, but also prevents injury, since Polnareff does not receive the same injuries as the armor while it is on. It is shown that the armor is able to withstand extreme heat without melting. The disadvantages of this ability seem to be that the armor limits the field of view of the stand. Polnareff can drop the Silver Chariot armor to gain a higher speed (sufficient for afterimages to appear), but this makes his stand more vulnerable to attack. The Silver Chariot's only long-range ability is its secret technique. He launches his rapier with great force and precision, capable of ricocheting off other objects and striking with enough force to pierce a human body. The main disadvantage of this attack is that Silver Chariot can only have one rapier, so Polnareff must pick up the weapon before he can attack again.

appearance

In the 90s, while in Italy, Polnareff wears the same top as when he traveled to fight DIO. His trousers are distinguished by the addition of knee pads and a belt. The fingers he lost in the battle against Vanilla Ice are no longer missing. Having lost his right eye and legs in the middle of his thigh, Polnareff now uses a wheelchair with prosthetics, hips wrapped in bandages and a stylized eyepatch. He also completely replaces his right forearm with a prosthesis connected to his arm. In the manga, his lost forearm is replaced by a spike on one panel, matching the appearance of his stand. Otherwise, he has a normal hand with two prosthetic fingers. Polnareff is a man of rather tall stature, athletic and muscular build. He has silvery hair that rises right above his head, straight, to a height about half the height of his head. He doesn't have eyebrows. He also wears earrings in the shape of jagged (broken) hearts.

The story before the Stardust Crusaders

Polnareff was born in a French village with his own stand, although he realized that he had it only after some time. His mother died when he was still young, leaving him a very lonely boy. The situation worsened when, three years before the events of Part 3, his sister was ambushed, raped and killed by J. Gale, which made Polnareff want revenge. Subsequently, Polnareff constantly trains his stand to avenge his sister and kill J. Gail. The powers of his Stand attracted Dio, who lured him with Jonathan Jostar's Stand and controlled his mind through a parasite.

Stardust Crusaders

Under the influence of Dio, Polnareff attacked Jostar's squad in Hong Kong. He faced Abdul and was defeated after a short battle. After Polnareff admitted defeat, Jotaro felt Dio's cells in his forehead and removed the implant. After that, Polnareff joined Jostar's group in their quest to destroy DIO, although his main goal was to find his sister's killer. At the end of this journey, he was able to take revenge on both his sister's killer and the one who killed Avdul and Iggy. At least, it seemed to him that Avdul was dead.

Golden Wind

Before the events of the Golden Wind, Jotaro and Polnareff found out about the Arrows and began investigating them. In the end, Polnareff traveled to Italy on his own until his investigations caught the attention of Diavolo. Polnareff tried to kill Diavolo, but he failed. He was thrown off a cliff and lost one eye and legs below the shin. After Diavolo found out that Polnareff had survived, he was considered the biggest threat to him. After some time, holed up in a local farmhouse, Polnareff dropped an Arrow behind the bedside table. When he uses the Silver Chariot to try to bring him back, he learns of a power superior to the Stands when the Stand pierced his finger with an Arrow: everything in a large radius around him began to fall asleep. Before he can lose control of the stand, Polnareff takes the Arrow from Silver Chariot, thereby returning it to its original shape. Surprisingly, even sitting in a wheelchair, he was able to get very rich by creating his own company to help people with disabilities. however, he refused any help around the house and he only occasionally invites a cleaner to clean up where he cannot physically. He doesn't have a mate either, he doesn't want to date anyone after the death of Avdul, Kakyoin and Iggy on the journey of the Stardust Crusaders. but he still calls Jotaro and Joseph quite often.

attitude towards Avdul.

Avdul was the most dear person to Polnareff, even if at first their communication did not work out and even vice versa: Polnareff considered Avdul a coward. but very soon, on a journey to track down Dio, Polnareff changed his mind to Avdul, who showed himself very proud and really strong, so he saved Polnareff more than once, even sacrificing himself. for example, Avdul shielded Polnareff from a Hole Horse shot, catching a bullet in the forehead, but fortunately the bullet did not go through because of his bandage, even if there was a scar. But unfortunately, right before finding Dio, Avdula and Iggy were killed by Vanilla Ice. Avdul saved Polnareff by sacrificing himself.. and so Jean Pierre Polnareff was obliged to kill Vanilla Ice and avenge his friends. That's what he did.
