After Noisy Boy was destroyed, Charlie Kenton needed a new robot, so he and Max Kenton went to a junkyard to salvage parts to create a new robot. After Max fell off a hill and got caught in the arm of a robot, he discovered that it was a complete robot. Max used a hook attached to his car to pull Atom out of the ditch. Later, Max cleaned Atom and discovered his name written on his chest. After much pleading from Max, Charlie agreed to take Atom to the zoo to fight. Max got Atom a fight with Metro, and after taking a beating in the first round, Atom dodged his previous knockdown and with a quick double uppercut, Atom gave Metro a system malfunction and won $2,000. A spectator invited the two to fight and Atom went on a winning streak. After defeating robots like Black Top, Six Shooter, and more, they were finally invited to an official WRB match with Twin Cities. Even though the opponent's technology was much more advanced, Atom won once again and Max challenged Zeus to a fight. In the fight, despite suffering an initial disadvantage, Atom managed, round after round, to defend himself effectively and even almost knock him out. However, at the end of Round 4, Zeus damaged Atom's vocal control and Max convinces his father to use Shadow Mode on him, allowing Atom to use the movements of whoever controls him. At the beginning of the Final Round, Charlie becomes defensive and allows himself to be defeated by Zeus, but once the latter runs out of energy, he easily turns the tables and even manages to take down the King of the Robots. However, the bells ring and Zeus is still standing, and the judges vote for a close victory for the latter, but Atom is the moral winner of the fight and is nominated as People's Champion. Currently, Atom was given free will and unwillingness to stay in the sport is now fighting in different parts of the world

Charlie Kenton trained Atom to use his small size to his advantage by striking and using inertia to create more force. His main form of attack is right hooks and a hook finish.
