Ambush is Charlie Kenton's famous robot. Charlie apparently won Ambush through a bet and is the first robot to appear in the film. Charlie visits a Texas country fair hoping to win money by having Ambush fight an 800-pound bull for $3,000. The fight promoter, Ricky, brings out a 1-ton bull, Black Thunder, and taunts Charlie that if Ambush doesn't fight, he won't get paid. Charlie is upset, so he raises the bets to $20,000, winner takes all. During the fight, Charlie is distracted by a couple of girls in the stands and Black Thunder takes the opportunity to hook and rip off Ambush's right leg. Charlie desperately tries to end the fight and keep Ambush moving, but the result is the total destruction of his robot. Charlie takes what's left of his robot, minus his right leg (which was stolen by three girls who were previously denied a photo with Ambush) and runs off before Ricky can collect the $20,000 from him. After the fight with Twin Cities, Ricky beats him up because he didn't pay, then he and his gang take Charlie's money (but not Max's money) currently Charlie Kenton got Ambush's leg back and rebuilt and improved him giving him his own personality and a "Special Improvement"

Ambush is a light blue robot, with a large menacing jaw, red boxing gloves, and a pair of orange and sky blue wings with a yellow "A" painted on the chest. He appears to have a vent in his abdominal area. He also has a charging port on his left abdomen. Ambush also appears to be a rusty robot, with rust "scars" on his left arm and chest. It has several paint scratches, dents, rust marks, and various other signs of wear and battle damage.
