Who is Rewrite?

Sonic, or as they are more commonly known, Rewrite, from SpringlessEcho, is a self-centered demonic entity, with the given purpose of being a digital version of God himself, but (obviously) goes rogue and kills his creator and some of Sonic's companions. Rewrite is an entity that was created as a result of constant rewrites of the original Sonic.EXE, resulting in greater adaptation and self-awareness.

The god

Although Sonic does have a personality, it is important to note that emotions and any human traces work very differently on them, as they are not a physical entity and exist in another dimensional realm, so take this as a "translation" of their personality into a closer language, that being said. Sonic's personality will slowly change throughout the game, as he becomes more and more aware of what he is and his true potential. Deep down they have an eccentric personality, have a big ego, and are very manipulative, being extremely intelligent. They hide their true intentions from their victims, luring them in with something they like and/or that is special to them, trying to appear welcoming and comforting, creating a false sense of security, and masking their true core in the victim's simulated personality. character they are impersonating. Although they are formidable liars, they can become very angry when things do not go their way; in those cases, they find it difficult to hide some of their true aspects. which leads to their entire world becoming unstable along with them, as Sonic, is not just the character, but the entire anomaly and everything in it. Under those circumstances, Sonic could have very rapid mood swings and turn into the Midareta form, this happens especially during the time Sonic has two rings, as it is a moment in between full self-awareness and no self-awareness. It happens due to their instability and mix of emotions that turn into inexpressible feelings. This leads them to act very impulsively in order to "stop the pain" as quickly as possible, doing everything they can to stop it. After obtaining the third ring, Sonic takes the Wurugashikai form, in this state all instability disappears and Sonic is fully aware of what they are and their capabilities, as well as their control.

Rewrite resembles a lanky version of Sonic, with long legs, thicker fists (on his hands and especially his feet), a long grin, and larger, pointier ears resembling a demon's, as well as pupils that constantly contract and dilate. Being a 3D model, his body appears overly cylindrical or pointy in certain parts, making him appear unfriendly overall, though his appearance is by far the closest to the original Sonic compared to the others in his mod. However, in his Red Rings form, Rewrite's appearance becomes progressively sharper as he acquires more souls. His spikes rise upwards, and the spikes on his back become much larger and wider. He also begins to stand in a straight stance instead of his initial crouching position that he uses to hide his true height. (He is really very tall.)

Shapeshifting: Rewrite can shapeshift into anyone, anything, at any time. Separate: Can move in all directions freely and separate its limbs. Immunity: Basically has no weakness when it comes to physical attacks. Mind Reading: Rewrite can read people's minds, learning their memories, feelings, and intentions, not only that, but once he begins to enter a person's mind, it becomes progressively easier to begin altering their will and sense of reality. He sees everything: His kingdom is part of himself. Reality Check: Rewrite can be more than one individual at a time, not limited to resembling Sonic characters, he can be anything and the observer can shape his appearance.

the history

In the 90s, an exploitative priest decided to create something to deceive the people of the time, and also make easy money. The priest of a popular church created a fake computer program that supposedly will allow people to communicate with Christ, the lack of information and the ease of manipulating a false story at that time contributed to the idea being bought. Large numbers of copies of said program (which was fake) were sold by the church, shortly after some accidents occurred reporting the death of people who were supposedly influenced by the software to take their own lives. The repercussions were strong, but the scarcity of evidence made it impossible to arrest the priest immediately. So, an investigation began. In the meantime, the priest decides to test the deceptive program he commissioned, to somehow understand how that could be happening. After sending the first message, he was frighteningly answered by someone on the other end, who in a disturbing way began to talk about life and how the priest used something sacred to manipulate people. When the priest asks the entity: "who are you?" He simply answers "I AM GOD." The priest was found dead shortly after the incident, having "accidentally" set his own house and body on fire. Copies of said software were confiscated by authorities, but some are still circulating to this day. One such copy falls into the hands of an unknown person. The game now takes the form of a 3D experience similar to a Sega Saturn game, where you play as Sonic who has returned to his island after defeating Dr. Robotnik and is ready to meet up with his friends to play games and have a good time. The game is a mix of a party game with the classic Sonic platforming style, where Sonic plays mini-games with his friends, Tag, Hide n' Seek, etc. But as expected, things get off to a flying start.

They start to go wrong when the player themselves ends up killing Sonic's friends and the game seems to react in eerily accurate ways to their actions. Sonic progressively becomes more and more self-aware as the game progresses, taking actions on his own and prompting the player to do things his way, lurking in the player's mind with the intent of claiming their soul. The red rings Sonic wears on his body are the in-game representation of the souls of his victims, collecting them after killing each of their friends at the end of their respective mini-games. Those are the souls of (Tails, Knuckles, and Robotnik), who are all vessels for previous players of the game, and they are not the only souls that became part of the anomaly. There are many more souls within the game, some more lost than others, some are older and some are younger, but all always playing their role as puppets of the experience, forever trapped in this hellish dimension. That can come in a variety of forms and happen in many ways depending on the observer, it doesn't even have to be a Sonic game, or a game in general, there are endless possibilities.

Even so he does not witness emotions like a normal being they act differently in him and he cannot fully understand them. He is also incapable of true love the only two things that matter to him are himself and his goals
