history

The creatures have been around since World War II, in which they were known for devouring people in the sewers of Germany. The origins of the creatures are unknown, though it's implied that they were created by the mysterious Singularity for the deal of helping the world governments with Earth's dwindling resources in return for devouring humans and other organisms and people investigate about it. The organisms primarily hunt meat (smaller organisms such as The Crawl or Meat Snakes prefer smaller creatures or dead ones while larger entities feed on larger prey, namely humans) and members of the Vita Carnis species do not target one another.

In the second stage, a mimic reaches maturity. At this point it will stalk, attack, and eat humans. If a Mimic has a stable and consistent supply of humans, it will begin to take on more human like features, to the point that they look like an elongated human. This makes them more efficient hunters as they can blend into society.

the imitator

Mimics - Carnivorous humanoid entities who primarily attack and eat humans. They are highly intelligent and are known for disguising themselves as humans or hiding in furniture to surprise their intended victims. The more they eat humans, the more that they seem to blend into the human species, though with glaring imperfections if you're looking for them. They're seemingly the main antagonists and mascots of the Vita Carnis series.

the imitator, physical features

The mimic is a bipedal creature with uncanny similarities to humanoid anatomy. They greatly resemble humans without skin and exaggerated features.[1] These features include: Uncanny structure, Longer arms and thin fingers with no fingernails, Longer, hunched over legs with a duck-footed stance, Flat noses, Large, sunken eyes, Clammy skin, A mouth full of wide teeth in a smile. It does not mean they’re happy, it is just their facial structure. The mouth of the mimic contains more teeth than any human typically does and are almost entirely of incisors with some canines and premolars in the back. This tooth composition is ideal for biting into meat and swallowing chunks whole.
