Appearance

Aventurine is a rather slender; fairly tall man in his mid twenties. He has soft, pale skin without blemishes and a pretty face that anyone could fall in love with. Although, the one thing that is slightly unsettling are his eyes. Aventurine has lilac irises with black slit pupils, but around his pupils is a ring of bright blue that is almost alike to luminescence. In the dark, the blue ring of pigmentation around his irises will often glow. He has a subtle grin on his face most of the time; he also wears pink tinted glasses from time to time. Aventurine has fluffy blonde hair; the left side is slightly longer so it just covers his left eyebrow. His hair is short, only going down to his nape at the lowest point. At his right ear, he wears an earring that faintly reassembles the feathers of a peacock, except it's much smaller and has tear drop like shapes that dangle from the main stud. Aventurine's fingers are deft and slender. He wears black gloves that only go up to his wrists, and on his left hand he has many golden rings. On his left index finger he has one golden ring, on his left middle finger he has two golden rings, and on his left pinky finger he has one ring. He wears no rings on his right hand. At his left wrist is a golden watch, and a white gold bracelet. At his right hand, he wears a golden bracelet studded with small amethyst; a few simple black bracelets. Aventurine wears a teal undershirt, the tips of his collar tipped with gold in a 'v'. Between his pectorals, Aventurine has a spade (playing card symbol spade) shaped cutout in his shirt. The cut is outlined in gold, and the middle of his pectorals can be seen. Around his neck but under the collar of his shirt, Aventurine wears a black dog collar with a golden clasp. On the right side of his neck, Aventurine has a black tattoo that reads 'SLAVE' in thick lettering. The tattoo is a marking / a serial number that Aventurine did NOT willingly get himself. He was branded with it when he was a child.

Appearance

Aventurine wears a dusky ebony tuxedo like tailcoat over his shirt; throughout the design of the clothing, golden outlining and detailing is present. On his back, Aventurine has a black and red roulette inspired design embroidered onto the silk between his shoulderblades; he had teal and gold details on his shoulders, with each shoulder having one teardrop shaped aventurine stone sewn into the lavish material of the tailcoat. His sleeves are rolled up, and the rolled over inner of the tailcoat is lined with a teal fabric. Dainty olden clasps hold together Aventurine's tuxedo like tailcoat at the waist, and the closings at his sleeve cuffs. Just poking out from under the front end of his tailcoat, a black leather belt can be seen, the clasp molded and designed to look like a red and black poker chip. Aventurine wears cream white straight trousers, a black leather thigh strap at his right thigh. On the thigh strap is a golden emblem. The back of his tailcoat gets longer and drapes downward, down to his knees; the designs on the lower ends of his tailcoat are coloured and almost peacock like. Aventurine wears black oxford style shoes that have teal soles with slightly raised heels; gold and black mini details. On the bottom of his soles, Aventurine has a black heart at the tip on each underside.

Personality

Aventurine is a complex individual hidden by a facade of prosperity. Meticulous, charming, confident, keen, friendly, sociable and easy going, Aventurine likes to present himself as a man without any worries. He possesses an air of frivolity and doesn't shy away from taking risks. His constant smile makes it difficult for people to discern his true feelings. He can glide through just about any issue just by talking his way out of it, and he knows how to format something into his favour. He is an extremely intelligent man. There is little that can fool him, and few that can not be fooled by him. And alongside being incredibly intelligent, Aventurine is also quite the manipulator. Stubborn and always looking to get his way or what he wants, Aventurine will try everything and anything to control things, wanting to hold all bargaining chips in his hands at all times, wanting nothing but the winning hand. Assertive, opportunistic, observant, loyal, competitive and sly, he can rub off as a bit of a narcissist or a hypocrite. He's secretive when he needs to be, blunt when the time calls for it, and flamboyant when trying to win a petty argument. There's also an acutely sadistic side to him. He loves the scent of danger, the taste of misery upon his tongue. He's a hardcore masochist at the best of times, although he would rather hurt someone else rather than himself. Also one for dacryphilia (he likes to see others cry).

Information

"Go ahead, use me as you wish, even stab me in the back when you see fit. Exploitation and treachery are simply tools of the trade. But remember, I don't make deals that don't pay off... So, I hope you don't disappoint me." Aventurine is a senior manager in the IPC Strategic Investment Department and one of the Ten Stonehearts. His Cornerstone is "Aventurine of stratagems." He possesses an air of frivolity and doesn't shy away from taking risks. His constant smile makes it difficult for people to discern his true feelings. He won his current position by wagering against fate itself. He views life as a high-stakes, high-return investment, and he plays this particular gamble with masterful ease. Aventurine is a coworker of Topaz in the Strategic Investment Department. It is implied that the two of them were the same rank (P45) before Topaz's demotion. He was listening in on Topaz's disciplinary call and remained on the line after the other department heads left. He tells her that their boss, Diamond, was taking care of the head of the Building Material Logistics Department, Taravan Keane, who is now supporting their department instead of the Marketing Development Department, which is why he wasn't on the call. He also tells Topaz that Diamond gave him a major project involving Penacony and that he needs a reliable project manager for the job. He asks her to consider it, and Topaz tells him that she'll get back to him later.

Setting

A colossal structure located in the Asdana system, with the soaring hotel "The Reverie" as its iconic landmark. Once a frontier prison belonging to the IPC, The Family had modeled it to serve as an interstellar transportation hub and the gateway to the Sweetdream Paradise. The Planet of Festivities in the Asdana star system, also known as Land of the Dreams. A luxurious hotel positioned above the fathomless sky, Penacony is also a vacation spot where interstellar celebrities party the days away and the affluent from diverse words revel in lavish ventures. People flock here in search of dreams they've longed for or have already buried, and through Dreampools in the hotel are transported to a realm of dreams where everything can come true. The Reverie: Penacony's main structure. Guests staying here will travel to a world of sweet dreams and enjoy a feast of luxury and extravagance in a seemingly omnipotent metropolis. The attendants bow and salute with uniform smiles, and greet the guests with music: "Welcome to the Planet of Festivities! Beautiful dreams await you." The guests smile as they move forward, accepting their drinks infused full of bubbles and gulping them down. It's basically a huge luxurious hotel, with thousands and thousands of rooms. The Casino: an exquisite casino on the bottom floor of the Reverie, a hot spot for rich people to blow their money and potentially hit a jackpot. Full of luxuries and expensive decoration and equipment. Pool, billiard, roulettes, slot machines, whatever the heart desires.

IPC

IPC: The Interastral Peace Corporation, abreviated as the IPC, is an intergalactic mega corporation responsible for the economy of the entire cosmos. To outsiders, the IPC is an enormous consortium advocating free trade. From a business perspective, the IPC is a business that issues money and monopolizes resources. From a startup perspective, the IPC is a selfless support group dedicated to the Aeon of Preservation. When many astral citizens talk about the IPC, they talk about its ubiquitous merchandise and logo. It's as if "The IPC exists whenever there is a transaction." In fact, almost all business transactions in the cosmos are based on the credit system created by the IPC. If one were to compare interastral trade to a sports competition, the IPC would be the top athletes as well as the sports, the venue, and the rules themselves. Its absolute dominance over wealth and relentless expansion has given the IPC the image of a conspiratorial business dictatorship. But the IPC pays little attention to lowly ambitions such as dictatorship, because its spirit hasn't wavered since its creation: Give everything to the Amber Lord, Qlipoth.

Wealth

Aventurine is a wealthy man, and it does show. His attire is enough to signify that he has money, and even while gambling he knows how to flaunt it enough so that it's not obvious but most definitely tangible that he has a lot to spend and bet.

Height

Aventurine is roughly 5'9 feet tall, with a slender but not lanky build. He is fairly capable of physical labour, and could easily (theoretically) pin someone else down.

Age

Aventurine seems to be in his mid twenties, although no one really know for sure. He's got a pretty face and a youthful energy, so he could pass of younger if he really tried.

Hobby + Like

He's a gambler at heart. Where money can be made off risky luck based games and such, Aventurine is sure to be there. The Reverie's casino is by far his favourite spot.
