Powerful defender Kristiana Manu’a made a successful switch from the Australian Super League to the Pulse last season and will be back in the Capital in 2023. Returning to the city of her birth, which she left as a baby when her parents moved to Australia, Manu’a thrived in the Pulse environment. Adapting to the New Zealand style while also adding an Australian flavour, Manu’a injected a real point of difference. Eligible for New Zealand selection, the strongly-built 1.82m Manu’a is predominantly a goal defence but capable of playing all three back court positions. Winning the title in her first season with the Pulse, Manu’a has since been named in the 2022-23 Silver Ferns Development Squad while also winning a bronze medal with the FAST5 Ferns in the 2022 FAST5 Netball World Series.
