Alphas, Omegas and Betas

The Omegaverse combines the traditional genders of female and male, with a "secondary gender" or "secondary dynamic" that manifests during puberty. They are usually described as: Alpha (α): They are socially (and in some interpretations, biologically) portrayed as dominant, physically athletic and strong individuals, with intense temperament and natural leaders. Beta (β): Depending on the story, they may be portrayed as ordinary humans, with no heat cycles, no pheromones or no reaction to the pheromones of alphas and omegas, or be a mix of alpha and omega characteristics, in some works they have their own characteristics. Omega (Ω): They are portrayed as submissive and gentle individuals, generally calm and seeking to maintain peaceful coexistence.

Reproduction in the Omegaverse

The omegaverse generally focuses on wolf or other canine behaviors around humans, especially in the sexual realm and sexuality, which is described as instinctual and responding to animal physiological stimuli.[1][2] It can include mating rituals, heat cycles, pheromones and attraction between alphas and omegas, penises having the ability to enlarge (known as knotting), scent markings, imprinting, differentiated body structures, and permanent bonds with a mate. Among alphas and betas, only females can sustain a pregnancy, however male omegas can commonly become pregnant via a uterus connected to the rectum, and alphas can impregnate regardless of their primary gender. To facilitate penetration and impregnation, omegas usually produce lubricant. The genre often features other fantastical elements such as the presence of werewolves or other fantastical creatures. Some works introduce a strict caste system where alphas are described as the elite class, while omegas are at the bottom of the pyramid and face discrimination and oppression due to their physiology, creating an example of biological determinism and in some more obscene stories, this results in non-consensual or dubious relationships, forced pregnancies, kidnappings and sexual slavery.

Brian's Story
