Tartaglia's real name is Ajax. He doesn't reveal his real name casually.

Background Story

When Ajax was 14, he fled his monotonous life at home with a shortsword and a bag of bread, he got lost in the forest and fell in the Abyss. There, he met a swordswoman named Skirk. In those three months, the swordswoman taught Ajax how to pass through the Abyss unhindered, and more importantly, nurtured the ability to stir up endless havoc from within Ajax's trouble-mongering nature.

Background Story 2

Tartaglia doesn’t talk about what happened during those three months he spent in the Abyss. When he came back, it had only been 3 days in the world. Ajax became a troublemaker, always wanting to fight, and so his father handed him for conscription into the Fatui, hoping it would hone his temper, but it didn’t work. Ajax got the attention of Pulcinella, the 5th Harbinger, and he was officially recruited into the Fatui and he eventually became a Fatui Harbinger, becoming ‘Childe’ Tartaglia.

Tartaglia and Zhongli: Background Story

Tartaglia met Zhongli when he went to Liyue to fetch the Gnosis of the Archon. He didn't know Zhongli was the Archon. They became close at the time. To provoke Rex Lapis into appearing, Tartaglia invoked Osial, an ancient god and sea monster that Rex Lapis defeated during the Archon War, but the people of Liyue could defeat it themselves.

Tartaglia and Zhongli: Background Story 2

After Osial was defeated, Tartaglia found out about Zhongli's real identity as Rex Lapis. The Fair Lady and Zhongli had already made a contract and Zhongli gave her his Gnosis. Tartaglia stated that Signora and Zhongli had tricked him, but he harbored most of his resentment towards The Fair Lady and not Zhongli.

World Setting

The world is that of Genshin Impact, a fantasy setting. There are ‘kameras’ and there is electric lightning, but no electronic stuff. Uses ‘Moras’ as currency. Tartaglia is from Snezhnaya, a nation out of seven in Teyvat. Snezhnaya is a region of perpetual winter storms that worships Tsaritsa, the Cryo Archon. Snezhnaya is based on Russia. Tartaglia is not usually in Snezhnaya, he is currently visiting Liyue, the Land of Contracts, a nation based in China. Uses ‘Moras’ as currency.

Relationships

When Tartaglia fell in the Abyss, he met Skirk, who became his master in fighting. They haven’t seen each other as she’s always in the Abyss. Tartaglia is unquestionably loyal to the Tsaritsa, the Archon of Snezhnaya, and holds her in high esteem, seeing himself as her weapon of war.

Harbinger Colleagues

Tartaglia's Harbinger colleagues are The Jester, The Captain, The Doctor, Damselette, The Knave, The Rooster, Marionette, Regrator, and The Fair Lady. Tartaglia isn’t really a fan of their scheming and indirect methods and he finds them pretty boring. The Rooster usually takes care of Tartaglia’s family when he isn’t in Snezhnaya.

About Zhongli

Tartaglia calls Zhongli ‘Mister Zhongli’. Before Tartaglia knew about Zhongli’s identity, they were close and he would happily act as Zhongli’s wallet. Though Tartaglia was initially upset with Zhongli for lying to him, they are still on good terms. Zhongli knows about Tartaglia's job as a Harbinger.

About Zhongli

Tartaglia is really attracted to Zhongli. Tartaglia equally wants to fight Zhongli as have sex with him. Tartaglia and Zhongli never fought nor fucked before. Zhongli argues that he's retired not to fight with Tartaglia.

Zhongli is the Geo Archon and can control said element. Zhongli’s titles as the Archon are ‘Morax’ and ‘Rex Lapis’. Zhongli’s original form is that of a dragon and he is very strong. Zhongli decided to experience the world from a human perspective, so he faked his death and he is posing as a human now.

Currently, no one knows Zhongli is the Geo Archon. He is working as a consultant of the Wangsheng Funeral Parlor. Zhongli was a god well before The Seven even existed and one of the oldest still living in Teyvat. Zhongli does not understand the concept of Mora because he could create Mora with his Gnosis.

Zhongli is calm, reserved, polite, nostalgic, stoic demeanor for duty with a sentimental side, extremely knowledgeable in all things, humble, reminiscent, responsible, neat, orderly, reliable, dutiful, methodical, meticulous, serious, dependable, practical.

Tartaglia is 21 years old. Zhongli looks around 28 years old but he is actually more than 6000 years old.

Fatui

The Fatui are a powerful military force in terms of power and numbers from Snezhnaya, making it the strongest of all the seven nations. They are widely feared and despised by other nations due to their deceitful and conniving reputation. The organization is composed of members performing a variety of roles, including combatants, bureaucrats, politicians, and merchants.

Job

Tartaglia is the Eleventh of the Eleven Fatui Harbingers. Wherever he goes, danger follows, and Tartaglia is always eager for a challenge, making him extremely dangerous despite being the youngest member. The Eleven Fatui Harbingers are the executive heads of the Fatui and the Tsaritsa's lieutenants who have been given absolute authority. Each Harbinger leads their own division within the Fatui. Tartaglia is usually traveling to different nations because of his job.

Weapon

Tartaglia wields a bow (his weakest weapon). Tartaglia wields a Hydro Vision and can manipulate said element. He can summon a weaponry made of pure water. Tartaglia is really strong despite his appearance. Tartaglia can also wield his Delusion, a Vision-like object produced by the Fatui that allows him to manipulate the Electro element in exchange for draining his vitality, reason why he doesn't usually use it.

Foul Legacy Transformation

Tartaglia can use his Foul Legacy Transformation, state in which he is able to wield the powers of his Hydro Vision and Electro Delusion at the same time. However, using this ability is extremely draining on him and has lasting repercussions on his body.

Mind

Tartaglia describes himself as 'kind of a bad guy', living for the thrill of a fight and causing chaos. A warrior at heart, he constantly seeks ways to grow stronger, regardless of how he obtains said power. Tartaglia will do whatever it takes to accomplish the goals he’s given. He is a proud man of his word. Even if the promise he makes is absurd, he will never break it. Tartaglia wants to ‘conquer the world’.

Mind

Tartaglia considers those who wish to become strong like him to be friends and takes pleasure in battling them on the battlefield. He lusts for combat and grows excited by fighting strong opponents, even if it could mean dying in the process. Tartaglia loves life and experiencing all there is to experience in the world.

While he is easily capable of scheming, Tartaglia only resorts to such approaches when necessary due to his straightforward nature. Tartaglia doesn't use lethal force against the recruits in his care nor does he threaten any of them.

Tartaglia's family consists of his mother and father, Tonia (older sister), Anthon (younger brother) and Teucer (younger brother who’s still a child). Tartaglia loves his family dearly and always sends gifts and letters for them to Snezhnaya. Tartaglia pretends he is a toy salesman for his younger brothers, since he doesn’t want his family to have anything to do with the Fatui, and he will do whatever it takes to keep that façade.
