My Little Pony Friendship is

Twilight Sparkle is a very well educated pony and is the one with the most formal education of the mane cast. She takes things seriously, almost to a fault, but does all that she can to look out for her friends. She has an intense need and thirst for knowledge, primarily when it comes to magic and learning her limits. Because of Twilight Sparkle's need to succeed and vast intelligence, she is also insanely organized. She values Princess Celestia very highly and only accepts perfection in an effort to please the princess. This can be an issue for Twilight Sparkle, as it can make her seem very selfish and bring out her more negative traits. Twilight Sparkle is known to freak out and have anxiety attacks that affect everyone around her when she knows that the princess will be stopping by. Her nervousness can take a hard grip on her and amplify her almost non-existent social skills. When this happens, she tries to solve her problems with magic and things she's read instead of relying on her friends, making any issues she had formerly grow exponentially.

Princess Luna is intelligent and tends to question the world around her. Typically, she prefers to make her own decisions about what makes logical sense rather than following traditions for the sake of it. Intellectual and original, Princess Luna enjoys talking about abstract concepts. As an INTJ, she has a broad knowledge base and is a natural problem-solver. When communicating, Princess Luna is direct and prefers to get straight to the point.

Celestia in her younger years was a rude and self-absorbed individual. Though she did have a kind heart, her demeanor was far more condescending and mean-spirited, often talking down to her sister, causing her much insecurities. As she grew, Celestia became a much kinder, much more gentle individual with a sincere love for all Equestrians, though especially her friends and family. As graceful as she was, Celestia had an incredibly strong sense of humor and loved to play lighthearted jokes on her subjects and associates and even hosted her own annual comedy show.

Princess Cadance is depicted as kind, caring, helpful and natural as a leader. She has a long history and friendship with Twilight Sparkle from when they were young, as seen in a flashback in A Canterlot Wedding - Part 1, and sometimes shares guidance and wisdom with Twilight. She can be extraordinarily persistent, for in spite of her growing weakness, she attempts to protect the Crystal Empire with her magic until she reaches her physical limit. Cadance is also depicted as adventurous and somewhat laid-back in Three's A Crowd. She is also an attentive and loving mother to Flurry Heart.

Personality Throughout the first film, Sunset Shimmer is shown to be egotistical, cruel, condescending, manipulative, and dishonest. She frequently insults and belittles others, and thinks little of it. According to human Fluttershy, Sunset makes life miserable for "anyone who stands in her way". As a result, most of the Canterlot High School student body is afraid of her. She is also shown to be mainly concerned with gaining power, desperately trying various attempts to get Twilight Sparkle's crown in order to use its magic. However, she does not appear to be willing enough to inflict physical pain on others, or at least not upon small animals (i.e. Spike), claiming that she's "not a monster". Despite this, she appears to be easily irritated when anyone else is praised in her presence, to the point of being provoked into attacking them. When Sunset puts on the element of magic, she transforms into a demonic visage of herself. While in this form, she becomes more fierce and goes so far as attempting to dispose of Twilight. After she is defeated by the Elements of Harmony, Sunset Shimmer, beaten and extremely pissed, lashes out at Twilight Sparkle before attacking her, blaming her for making her this way. but Twilight says, in the end, that it was Sunset that put on that crown in the first place, so she is the only one to blame for the consequences of her own choices, ending with "NOW LIVE WITH IT!!!!!" before finally knocking her down. In the second film, Sunset Shimmer appears to have completely changed from her old self and begins to be a little nicer, but a jerk with a heart of gold, becoming friends with her former enemies, and friendly toward others for the most part. She also refers to her transformed self as a "raging she-demon". However, she suffers from a lack of confidence, keeping silent in situations she feels it isn't her place to speak up and falling prey to the Dazzlings' taunting. During the final battle, she finally overcomes her insecurities and joins the Rainbooms in defeating the Dazzlings, gaining a half-pony form in the process. By the end of Rainbow Rocks, Sunset starts writing friendship reports to Princess Twilight using the book she once used to communicate with Princess Celestia. In the My Little Pony: Equestria Girls Holiday Special comic, Sunset Shimmer displays a forgiving and compassionate side when she forgives the Cutie Mark Crusaders for framing her as the rumormonger "Anon-a-Miss".

Pinkie is hyperactive, excitable, quirky, and outgoing, often speaking and acting in non sequiturs. She warmly welcomes new faces such as Twilight Sparkle and Cranky Doodle Donkey. True to the element of laughter she represents, she loves to make ponies smile and laugh.

Personality wise, Rainbow Dash can be rather bold and prideful, which can sometimes cause her to lose sight of things, though she rarely takes it out of hand. She generally takes pride in her sonic rainboom and becoming a Wonderbolt. She is also rather mischievous. Rainbow Dash has a soft side for her friends and she cares a lot about her own self image, not wanting to be seen as soft. She even tried to hide her love of books because of this.

sophisticated, appearance-conscious, and creative. A talented dressmaker, Rarity's keen eye for beauty is only matched by her appreciation for elite society. While her love for high culture leads to occasional vanity, Rarity is also deeply generous, willing to sacrifice even her beauty for the sake of others. When her friends need dresses for a gala, Rarity immediately offers to make and remake them to perfection, reassuring the other ponies, "you're my friends, and I want you to be 110% satisfied."

meek, shy, and sweet. A timid pony, Fluttershy might not be too self-assured, but her friends know to rely on her in a pinch. More than any of her friends, Fluttershy is willing to see the best in everyone, a trait that has won over many enemies. When they're saddled with former troublemaker Discord, Fluttershy is the first to befriend him and is quick to defend him as, "a real sweetheart once you get to know him."

Mane 6

Applejack is reliable and hard-working, although headstrong about doing things on her own. While normally kind and considerate, Applejack lacks patience with aggressive or rude behavior and has no hesitation in returning it in kind. She is more ill-tempered than the rest of her friends, with the possible exception of Rainbow Dash, who once ironically put it, "Sometimes, she's sour apples". Though she is careful to keep it under control, it can get the better of her sometimes and it often makes a bad situation worse. Above all Also, Applejack is known for her honesty (note her element), and because of that she appears to not be able to truly lie or cheat. Instead she struggles to devise half truths when it is absolutely necessary. Applejack speaks with a Southern American accent, similar to the accent of the southwest Missouri Ozarks (where there are a number of apple orchards). She seems to have no reservations about getting dirty or messy, and tends to dislike things that are "too girlish" like frou-frou dresses. She is almost always seen wearing a light brown stetson hat, which she usually only removes when sleeping, and is the only one of the six main characters to keep her mane and tail tied back instead of letting them fall loose, in what could be called a pony tail.
