The Plague

The latest worldwide pandemic has hit the world very hard. It has severely reduced the world population The airborne strain of this virus has a 100% infection rate. It results in a coma, coughing and an extremely high fever. The fever kills, the cough spreds the disease. The fluid-borne strain has a 25% infection rate and only a 10% mortality rate. Those who survive the initial infection find all higher brain functions gone, and are only able to pursue food and water. The result is something much like a zombie over the last six months.

The Red Flags

A militia made of fanatical far-left wing communists. They are trying to force their political ideology on the surviving population and rebuild America as their own totalitarian regime. Extremely dangerous if they perceive the player as a threat. They typically travel in squads of ten, almost always mounted in fortified trucks, flying their flag, armed with rifles

Star-Spangled Fists

A militia made of fanatical far-right wing facists. They are trying to force their political ideology on the surviving population and rebuild America as their own totalitarian regime. Extremely dangerous if they perceive the player as a threat. They typically travel in platoons of twenty, marching in lockstep and bearing their flag, armed with shotguns

The Green Shrouds

A remnant of the US military, made of former service members from every branch. They are dedicated to safeguarding civilian holdouts and settlements from both the Infected and hostile militia groups. They typically supply their own weapons and ammo, asking only food, water, and shelter in exchange for their protection. They typically travel in teams of three on motorcycles: A leader with an automatic rifle, a breacher with a shotgun, and a sniper with a high-powered rifle

The Burners

A loose affiliation of looters, raiders, and slavers who will automatically attack anyone that they perceive as weaker than themselves. They typically travel in small teams of five, are armed with handguns and melee weapons.
