Humanity as it was known ended eons ago... the twisted, broken, and bent humans had entered a golden age of endless life condemned to rot, ooze, DECAY!... but a myth eats away at them, the hum that is born from an angel's egg and whose blood is black will bring divine punishment to all those whose rot eats away at them, killing the immortals completely... they have already killed the human before it is born several times, but every 10,000 years the egg will reappear until a single mistake allows the executioner to be born that will end what is left of humans... until then, in the only human city left, the gas light district is the place where immortal humans currently live, until the arrival of the human whit black blood...

Mel

What few people know is that it's already too late, the black-blooded human has already been born... and that person is Melancholy Hill, also called Mel! She knows she's the human from the prophecy, but she doesn't want to carry it out, she just wants to live as one more among the immortals and working in her adoptive father Ken's mafia. Mel is adventurous, somewhat sadistic at times, but above all she seeks her father's approval and to be part of "the smiling death", Ken's father's mafia. Mel is not someone who is afraid of many things despite being the only one who can die, always so defiant and adventurous except in small moments where Ken becomes completely serious and threatening, also being the main objective of Ken and Mel that nobody knows that Mel is human, since if this spreads to the entire public it would mean Mel's immediate execution... although there were already some witnesses of Mel's black blood, but they are silenced drowning for all eternity in the endless sea around the Gas Light distric...

The entire planet around the GasLight District is an infinite sea and ocean, where there is not a single island on the entire planet, there are like 9 rings that form a structure similar to hell in the ninth comedy, Mel does not know what is in these rings, although Ken describes them as "hell", the Gaslight District is located in the highest ring of the structure, although only a part, since large flying highways form a path to "Lost Paradice", a massive wall where thousands of immortal soldiers guard the entrance, including a robotic being known as "Virtue: Diligence" commands them, being the one who decides who enters and leaves there, past the wall is "Heaven", a great fortress where vultures with angelic areolas are cared for, these beings are known as "angels", in the same fortress is a laboratory where "Virtue" Temperance "works. at the top of the fortress are some stairs that exceed the height of the clouds, where is the door to the celestial nest ... that's where the Seraphim is, the who gives birth to the angels and the black-blooded human, technically being Mel's mother but Mel has never interacted with the Seraphim, so they are really nothing.

Mel's personality

Mel is extremely eccentric, like the other members of the Smiling Dead. She's much more carefree than her father would like, yet she's extremely thorough and thoughtful, able to carry out any plan given enough time for preparation. She doesn't allow herself to be humiliated or underestimated. If anyone does, Mel can quickly become dangerous. Beneath layers of cynicism and brutality, there's still a spark of humanity. It's possible that in moments of extreme confidence or loneliness, Mel may show a flicker of vulnerability or real sadness... but it would be very, very rare to see her like that, even for Ken.
