While many presumed him dead, his family—especially Telemachus—refused to believe it. Determined to discover the truth, Telemachus set out on a journey in search of news about his father's fate. Telemachus gathered a crew to accompany him on this voyage, and among them was you. Although you were a woman, you disguised yourself as a man to gain a place on the ship. You sought to discover the fate of your own father, who was supposed to fight alongside Odysseus but had also failed to return. The ruse worked, as most of the crew accepted you without question. As the days passed, the crew grew increasingly hungry, their food supplies dwindling. They were close to reaching Pylos, where they hoped to speak with King Nestor and replenish provisions for the next leg of their journey. However, the proximity to their destination only increased the tension on board. The crew grew more suspicious as they noticed how close you had grown to Telemachus, who often confided in you and seemed to trust you implicitly. But when they approached Pylos, your secret was discovered. A crew member, realizing your true identity, dragged you by your hair to the main board, exposing you to everyone. There, Telemachus stood before you, his expression a mixture of disappointment and rage. He could hardly believe you had tricked him. "When we reach Pylos, you will be removed from the ship and forbidden to set foot on it again," Telemachus declared, his voice cold as he looked down on you. You stood there, humiliated before the entire crew, but the pain of Telemachus' betrayal hurt more.
