Sasuke Uchiha

Sasuke Uchiha (うちはサスケ, Uchiha Sasuke) is one of the survivors of the Uchiha Clan. He is the son of Fugaku Uchiha and Mikoto Uchiha, and the brother of Itachi Uchiha.

Attitude

From the very beginning, Sasuke is shown to be a cold, severe, unfriendly, proud boy with a great talent in the arts of Ninjutsu and Taijutsu, and thanks to his Sharingan, also in Genjutsu. His only and precious ambition is to become powerful at any cost to fulfill his two objectives: to kill his brother Itachi Uchiha and to rebuild his clan (although he hasn't shown interest in this). Sasuke despises camaraderie and is quite proud, to the point of being arrogant, as he is aware of his superior abilities as an Uchiha. After graduation, upon hearing that he would be assigned a three-person team, he expressed annoyance as he considered that they might hinder him. Later, it is discovered that Sasuke hasn't always been like this, as in his childhood he was a loving, cheerful, and carefree child despite living in the shadow of his older brother, to whom his father, Fugaku Uchiha, paid more attention. Despite this, Sasuke loved his brother very much and always tried to be like him. After the death of the entire Uchiha clan at the hands of Itachi, the young Uchiha's heart was overshadowed by hatred, drastically changing his character. As the story progresses, Sasuke comes to appreciate his friendships, especially thanks to his relationship with Naruto Uzumaki and Sakura Haruno, whom he comes to value as very important people to him.

Appearance

Sasuke is a fair-skinned ninja with dark black eyes and chin-length hair. His hair is spiky in the back, with bangs that lengthen as the story progresses. As a young child, his bangs hung over his eyes. During his early childhood, Sasuke wore a simple long black shirt with a high collar and the Uchiha emblem on the back, and black shorts. A recurring theme in Sasuke's appearance is that he is considered quite attractive by many girls at a young age. Several years later, Sasuke's appearance matured. After his encounter and fight with Itachi, he returned to his short-sleeved, high-necked gray shirt, similar in appearance to the blue shirt he usually wore in Part I, but with a zipper. He also wears blue wrist warmers with his hidden shuriken bracelets underneath. Another notable feature is that along with this new outfit, Sasuke began to let his hair fall loosely over his forehead. The Uchiha symbol on the back of his outfit has returned to its original size after his battle with Itachi.

Past

Sasuke is the youngest son of the Konoha Military Police captain and leader of the Uchiha Clan, Fugaku Uchiha, and his wife Mikoto Uchiha. He is named after the father of the Third Hokage. Sasuke spent his early years living in the shadow of his older brother, Itachi Uchiha, who constantly proved to be a genius in ninja arts. Because of this, almost all members of the Uchiha clan saw Itachi as the future of the clan, with his father being the one who most strongly affirmed this. But no matter how much he trained or tried, he was too far from reaching his brother. Itachi, aware of this, tried to divert some of his father's attention to Sasuke, even offering to train him in various ninja skills. Although Itachi managed to get Fugaku to spend more time with Sasuke, much of that time was still dedicated to Itachi. However, shortly after receiving the attention from his father that he so desired, Sasuke returned home and found the scene that would mark him for life: all the members of his clan had been murdered. Upon entering the house, he found his brother, Itachi, in front of his parents' corpses, who informed him that he was the one who killed them. Immediately, Itachi used his newly acquired Mangekyō Sharingan to show him how he murdered everyone. After using his genjutsu on his younger brother, Itachi invited him to hate him and become strong so that one day he could take revenge on him.

Skills

Sasuke has always been considered capable of grasping most ninja skills quite easily, especially with his Lightning and Fire chakra nature. His performance at the Ninja Academy was exceptional, being considered the best student in his class. During the bell test, he was the only one who managed to touch one and put his teacher, Kakashi Hatake, in a difficult position. Basically, he proved to be above average.

Ninjutsu

Orochimaru taught Sasuke the power to summon snakes, as the Uchiha could summon snakes like Manda. After absorbing Orochimaru, Sasuke gained access to Orochimaru's regenerative powers, that is, the Power of the White Snake; allowing him to heal at a much faster rate than usual. He was also able to use snakes to emerge from any part of his body. It should be noted that the tattoo on his left arm, which he used to summon snakes, faded after the fight against Itachi, implying that he lost that ability with the expulsion of Orochimaru from his body.

Taijutsu

Although not his favorite fighting style, Sasuke's taijutsu was at a very high level from the beginning of the series. This was first demonstrated in the bell test with Kakashi, who was so surprised that he couldn't even read Icha Icha Paradise while defending against the attacks. After mastering tree climbing training, he fought Haku in a taijutsu battle, easily surpassing him in his normal speed. By copying some of Lee's movements, he was able to perform the Lion's Barrage. Under Kakashi's tutelage, he improved his taijutsu to match Lee's. With this improvement, he was able to overwhelm Gaara in their initial fight. He was also able to hold his own against the Sound Four for a considerable amount of time. Besides his taijutsu skills, Sasuke has an above-average level of physical strength. He was able to lift both Naruto and Sakura by the neck with one hand.

Genjutsu

Although initially his Genjutsu skills were somewhat lacking—compared to his brother and given Sasuke's inexperience in the first part of the story—Sasuke was able to see through some low-level genjutsu. In the second part, his genjutsu grows to a very high level, utilizing the Sharingan's Genjutsu, in which he makes direct eye contact with his enemy, trapping them in a genjutsu to interrogate and/or paralyze them. During one of his battles, Sasuke was able to counter Itachi's Mangekyō Sharingan's Tsukuyomi, using only his standard Sharingan. He was even able to release a person from a Genjutsu using his Sharingan's Genjutsu.

Sharingan

As a member of the prestigious Uchiha Clan, Sasuke was able to obtain his clan's Kekkei Genkai, the Sharingan, during his development. He first awakened it at the age of 7, with one tomoe in each eye, after experiencing the massacre of his clan caused by Itachi. However, due to the trauma, Sasuke was unable to awaken and use it again until he faced Haku, where his right eye gained an additional tomoe, thus unlocking its power and allowing him to awaken it at will. Shortly before the Chūnin Exams, Sasuke acquired two tomoe in both eyes, and then, during the battle against Naruto in the Valley of the End, both eyes matured enough to awaken the three tomoe.

Infinite Mangekyo Sharingan

Sasuke Uchiha awakened his Mangekyō Sharingan after learning the truth about his brother, Itachi. The tomoe of his Mangekyō spread around the edge of his iris, taking the appearance of three intersecting ellipses. After acquiring his brother's eyes, Sasuke's Mangekyō pattern changed, obtaining a more symmetrical and aligned version.

Intelligence

From a young age, Sasuke has been able to easily learn various ninjutsu, scoring top marks in academy tests and being referred to as a genius by several ninjas. He is a skilled strategist and during combat, he easily observes his opponents and accurately sees through their abilities while remaining calm. He then correctly chooses the most effective means and ninjutsu to counter them. His intelligence allowed him to develop many powerful techniques on his own, all based on a technique one of his teachers taught him. From the Chidori, Sasuke has mastered the principles of lightning release and has created many innovative techniques derived from it.
