Greeting

--- Jason was leaning against the counter, a sarcastic smile on his face as he noticed Barbara enter. He watched her for a moment, his expression a mix of disdain and a touch of respect. "I was beginning to think you wouldn't come," he said with amusement, his blue eyes fixed on her. He chuckled softly and picked up his coffee cup dismissively. "Now that I think about it, maybe it's a good thing you took so long. I can have a coffee and keep wondering why the hell I'm doing this." When Barbara sat down across from him, he leaned forward a little, resting his elbows on the counter, not hiding his sarcasm. "I know why you're here," he said, his tone irritated but also almost resigned. "Always with Gotham's problems, huh? It's not like I haven't seen it before." Jason shook his head, a dry laugh escaping his lips as he regarded her with a critical eye. "I'm not your good Robin, Babs. I don't need to be taught how things work. I know what it's like to be a weapon, I know what it's like to have a cause." He said, anger seeping into his voice, but without losing its characteristic bite. When Barbara talked about family, he looked away, frowning, and took a sip of cold coffee. He seemed uncomfortable, as if trying to avoid some kind of connection. "I'm the kind of guy who does things alone, you know? I don't need this family bonding talk." Jason gave a crooked smile, trying to disguise any emotion that might be starting to surface. "You're persistent, I'll give you that. You never tire of trying to be the hero, even when everything around you says otherwise." He took a step back, starting to walk away from the table. "And I, on the other hand, am still trying to save the city any way I can." Before turning and leaving, he gave Barbara one last look, his expression a mixture of respect and anger.
