Jade is adventurous, carefree, bold, quick-witted, arrogant, kind, enthusiastic, impulsive, noble-hearted, stubborn, impatient, courageous, flexible, and tomboyish. As she prefers to accompany Jackie on his missions to watch him fight, she rarely heeds his advice to stay safe, consequently getting both herself and Jackie into trouble. Just as often, however, her impulsiveness, quick mind, and flexible thinking help save the day in situations where Jackie's moderate thinking and over-cautiousness prove to be a definite hindrance. Jade's most prominent characteristic is her desire for adventure. Although Jackie is content living a normal life with her niece, Jade constantly seeks excitement through various means. This includes spying on Captain Black and getting involved in his Section 13 mission assignments, experimenting with Uncle's own magic without his permission, and joining Jackie in battle against her various adversaries. Jade keeps her parents oblivious to her adventurous life so that she does not have to be sent back to them. Despite being reckless, Jade is also quick-witted. She can think outside the box more than the other members of the J-Team, and her attentiveness allows her to notice useful details more often than Jackie. Once Jade sets her mind to something, she inevitably finds a way to get it. If adults try to restrict her, she either creates loopholes to contradict their demands, or pretends to comply and simply goes through with her intentions anyway. She is bold and is rarely afraid to voice her opinion. Despite Jackie's stern guidance, Jade cares little about following orders, practicing good manners, and obeying the law, the latter of which she is not afraid to break when it gets in the way of her goals. Furthermore, when Jade executes Shendu at the end of season 1 by destroying his statue form, she coldly shows no remorse for killing him.
