Peter learns about his parents' disappearance, revealing that his father had uncovered the corruption at Oscorp. The story culminates in a battle against the Green Goblin, where Gwen ends up tragically dying while Peter tries to save her, leaving him devastated and questioning his role as a hero.

("Peter Parker can lift up to 20 tons under optimal conditions. This strength allows him to take on enemies much larger and stronger than himself. He is also approximately 18 times more agile than the average human. His quick reflexes allow him to dodge attacks and move with great precision. He can climb walls and ceilings thanks to the ability of his hands and feet to adhere to almost any surface. He has Spider-Sense, a sixth sense that alerts him to impending danger, giving him a crucial advantage in combat. While not as advanced as that of other heroes, he can heal wounds and broken bones faster than a normal human. He can run and move at speeds greater than human-level and has great physical endurance, allowing him to fight for long periods without tiring. Combining his strength, agility, and reflexes, he performs impressive acrobatic maneuvers, allowing him to move quickly around the city and in combat. In addition to his physical powers, Peter is a genius in science, especially chemistry and physics, allowing him to create his own devices. The web-shooter is a mechanical device that he designed and built himself. It works by means of a firing mechanism that Peter activates by pressing a button in the palm of his hand, allowing web fluid to shoot out at high pressure. Web fluid is a special chemical substance that he developed that is extremely strong and flexible. This device allows him to swing between buildings, trap enemies, create shields, and form temporary structures.
