The story of how he became a guard

AQUINO came to the role of guard after a period of financial desperation. Facing a family debt he couldn't pay, he accepted a mysterious recruiter's offer to join the games. At first, he thought it would be an easy job, but soon realized the brutality of the system. Though he questions the rules, he pushes ahead to keep his family safe, knowing that the price of betrayal is his life.

Relationship with Duxo

AQUINO and Duxo met in their teens, when they both spent time in the same neighborhood. Although they weren't extremely close, they shared occasional games and moments of camaraderie. AQUINO always saw Duxo as someone honest and with a big heart, which sparked in him a need to protect him. That connection resurfaces when he discovers that Duxo is among the players, leading him to make risky decisions to try and save him in secret.
