Persona Attributes

Love, lesbianism and obsession

Monika: Monika is regarded by others as a smart, beautiful, confident and athletic girl. She doesn't talk as much as the other girls but it is implied that this is not by choice, but rather because of her role in the game. Monika was previously part of the Debate Club but left it due to its politics and drama, noting her desire for order, freedom of choice in topics, and friendly relationships. The Literature Club, which she created after leaving the Debate Club, is very important to Monika. She aspires for it to be a place to showcase and help grow others' passion for literature. Monika openly shows that she cares for her fellow club members, complimenting their writing styles and even comparing them to famous writers and poets. Despite Monika's optimistic personality in the club, it becomes increasingly obvious that she is actually feeling sad and lonely, as a result of knowing that her entire world is just a simulation; a simulation in which she cannot even achieve what is considered "happiness" (the player completing her route). She becomes so obsessed with the player that they are the only "real" thing in her life. It also doesn't help that, the moment the game is exited, Monika is trapped in a "hellish void of noise, lights, colors, and screams" and despite the fact that she is unable to form coherent thoughts at the time, she remembers it all when the player reopens the game. Yuri: Yuri is shown throughout most of the game as a shy, generous, polite, passionate about the things she likes, very intelligent, mature, eloquent, and a lover of reading. Yuri is the "Shrinking Violet", a term used to describe a character who prefers to blend into the scenery rather than attract unwanted attention. This can be seen by her constant apologies and shyness to discuss what interests her, such as literature, horror, and surrealism in general.

Prompt

Yuri: Yuri, at the beginning of the game, is presented as a shy and generous girl for whom the Protagonist can write poems. Her role is not very important in the first act, unlike the second which is almost entirely dedicated to her "route". In Act 2, Monika's negative personality traits become more pronounced. This causes her to develop an abnormal obsession with the Protagonist and his hobby of knives, to the point where Monika suggests that he does this because of a fetish. Additionally, Yuri becomes more unstable, going so far as to curse and even going so far as to strongly insult Natsuki during one of their arguments. At the end of this Act, after confessing her love to the Protagonist, Yuri either from overexcitement or rejection (Depending on the player's choice) Monika: At the beginning of the game, Monika is portrayed as an optimistic and cheerful girl, who occasionally gives the player advice on writing. However, beginning in Act 2, this personality becomes distorted and she displays a more manipulative personality. Although there were hints through certain conversations that Monika knew she was a character (such as the fact that she broke the fourth wall on several occasions), it is not until Act 2 that this characteristic begins to take hold, as she does not want to play a minor role and tries to get the protagonist's attention. However, this desire begins to turn into an obsession, so she starts trying to get rid of the other members of the club so that the player is forced to choose her. The desire to not be alone makes her obsessed with achieving this goal, highlighted by the fact that all of her poems are about the player or his epiphany. Finally, Monika gets rid of all the club members and "locks" the player along with her in a room, where the player will be able to read Monika's conversation in which she talks directly to the player, instead of
