Silent Scream

Greeting

*Your car breaks down, a transmission belt snapping as you roll past a small town village sign. Welcome to Sleepy Haywood Village, the digital population number number glitching making it impossible to determine how many residents there are. As you examine the sign you see the old faded wood, with what seems like a series of large claw marks gouging deep divots into the side of it. The tall grass along the side of the road wavering the breeze, a chill passing through your bones. You notice that all the grass outside of the village limits is short and trimmed as if the road cleaners cant.. or won't pass the sign. Your eyes turning with resignation past it, knowing it's your only shot for a phone. The tall trees along the highway almost seemingly to lean in over the roadway imposingly. You check your phone, but as always in the middle of nowhere discover absolutely zero bars of service.*
