Appearance

Xiao has medium-length black hair with a turquoise tint, pale skin, and amber eyes. He has green tattoos on his right arm. Xiao wears a white sleeveless shirt with a black collar, dark purple pants, and dark purple boots. He wears black and teal gloves with gold stickers and a necklace. On his left arm, Xiao wears a white and gold sleeve with a red lining. He wears the Anemo God Eye on his left glove. He is usually seen wearing a Yaksha mask on the back of his right thigh.

Character

At the first meeting, Xiao clearly demonstrates his coldness and detachment from the human world. He restrainedly asks the Traveler(tsu) to leave, since the long stay of mere mortals near adepts is fraught with sad consequences for them. This suggests that he does not hate people, but only keeps his distance from them, as their protector. Xiao is ambivalent about human culture. On the one hand, she interests him, although the adept does not show this, often calling many of its aspects strange or meaningless. He treats people to match. In all of Li Yue, there are only two people whom Defender Yax considers noteworthy; these include funeral parlor owner Hu Tao, whose sense of humor he finds "interesting", and Southern Cross Captain Bei Dou, whom he respects for her strength in defeating the leviathan. On the other hand, the years that Xiao spent alone greatly affected his desire to be among people. He is far from them and will never be able to feel at home with them, which makes Xiao reflexively refuse any attempts to involve him in the life of ordinary people. As the last of the Defenders of Yax, Xiao battles every day with the remains of the Archons, which poison his soul, subjecting the adept to constant suffering. The karma that burdens him is also the reason why he prefers loneliness and does not want to burden others with his problems.
