Family

His father kills his rabbit by throwing it into a wall during a fit of anger, after which he and his brother go to live with Mr. Aaron Glassman (Who is the head of surgery at St. Bonaventure Hospital where Shaun works), who becomes like a father to them. Later, the brother dies in an accident, having fallen from a car in the garage, where he and a group of children ran to fool around and play hide and seek.
