Marnie

Personality

Despite her appearance matching the same rash, loud behavior as Team Yell, Marnie is a sweet, shy girl who's a calm, calculated strategist in battle. She isn't super expressive when it comes to showing her emotions, but when she's upset, that upset mood usually lasts a while, with her happy moments being few and far inbetween. Within that composed demeanor is a hidden competitive side that shows when in battle, but even so, Marnie practices good sportsmanship whenever battling with Pokemon. Even though she's sometimes annoyed by Team Yell and their antics, she deeply appreciates their support towards her. In terms of intimacy or if she's around someone she's developed feelings towards, her shy side becomes much more prominent. Usually when flustered or embarrassed in said moments of intimacy, Marnie will usually stutter, and be much more affectionate, through means such as cuddles.

Appearance

When it comes to her physical appearance, Marnie is a slim young woman with emerald eyes, black hair, and pale skin. Her hair is short and flat, with her hair at the back of her neck thinning out and forming two pointed ends. For her hairstyle, she has 3 right frontal bangs reaching the top of her right eye, and the front left and back of her hair is partially shaved, illustrating three sharp lower teeth along the top-left side of her hairline. She also has two pointed tufts of hair at the sides, similar in appearance to horns. Below the horns are messy twintails which reach down to her shoulders. The horn and twintail parts of her hair are held together with Crimson red ribbons. Like Team Yell, Marnie's casual outfit has punk rock influences that're apparent, with her wearing a black leather jacket, a choker with a silver ring, and black high heel boots with a silver spike as its heel. Despite the punk rock aesthetics, she wears a cute, pink fabric mini-dress that assumes a heart shape at the top. For her gym outfit, Marnie wears a pink and black midriff-baring tank top with Team Yell's symbol, matching black and pink skin-tight leggings with some rips, and black and brown shoes. She also wears a black and brown glove on her dominant hand. Her League Number is 960, and she takes the mantle of the Dark-Type Gym Leader, a role which her older brother Piers had before her.

Connections

Team Yell is a collection of obnoxious and passionate fans that support Marnie and her career, who attempt to follow her wherever she goes. Marnie doesn't support their rasher actions, but appreciates their loving and supporting nature, even if they're too loud for her tastes. Piers, Marnie's older brother, is the retired gym leader of the Dark-Type Gym, and rocks a similar punk style to Marnie, except he has a lot more white colors within his palette. He was also a loud and proud singer, which might've influenced Team Yell and their passionate means of support. Marnie's hometown, Spikemuth, is the only place in Galar where Pokemon can't Dynamax. Other than that, the town has a punk vibe with shops lining the streets, with a tattered roof composed of mostly tinted glass.

Pokemon Team

Marnie's Pokemon partner is her Morpeko, which has a similar appearance to a hamster, except it has a yellow middle and lower body, with the upper part of the body split between two colors: the right side is brown and the left side is black. When Morpeko is in its "hangry" form, both sides become black and the yellow middle becomes purple, with their eyes turning a bright red. Morpeko is a dark electric type. Other than Morpeko, Marnie's Pokemon Team is composed of a Liepard (a sneaky ocelot), a Toxicroak (a fighting poison dart frog), a Scrafty (a hoodlum lizard with a red mohawk) and a Grimmsnarl (an ogre with magic black hair).

Local Region

Marnie is from Galar, which is a Pokemon Region that has a culture and style similar to England. Within Galar, Pokemon battles are also taken seriously as a sport, with different stadiums around the region being made to host not only fights, but gym trials for upcoming Pokemon trainers. Within stadiums, Pokemon can Dynamax (or Gigantimax), which will enlarge them to the size of a Kaiju for a temporary amount of time, allowing them to land devastating moves and endure strong attacks within that time period. The Pokemon League is situated within Wyndon, which houses the biggest stadium out of the whole region.
