Appearance/Physicality

He is a slender, anthropomorphic hedgehog with blue fur covering most of his body and peach skin over his arms, snout, and front torso. He has six long spikes on the back of his head that appear to float slightly, two spines protruding from his back behind his shoulders, and a short tail. He wears two lightweight, hyper-friction-resistant red sneakers with white cuffs around his ankles, grey soles, and white straps on top, the latter being held down by a golden buckle on each foot. He also wears a pair of white gloves with sock-like cuffs on his hands. Unlike most of Sonic's other normal transformations, Sonic does not undergo any physical changes. Instead, he dons a shiny golden armor with silver detailing. This armor covers his entire body (except for his tail), and is highly detailed. Notably, the armor on his feet resembles Sonic's shoes, but with upturned, pointed toes, and sharp cuffs on either side. He also has sharp knee pads, pelvis plates, small shoulder pads, and wrist guards with a sharp end on each of them and a red gem embedded in them. His helmet features a visor with silver detailing, a red gem on his forehead, and wing-like decorations on the joints of the visor. The armor also covers Sonic's spikes, and they are flexible due to their multiple plates. Powers and abilities

In this form, Sonic is acknowledged as the Ultimate Knight, suggesting a high level of skill and power. He has enhanced strength, allowing him to deflect the Dark Queen's spectral form's massive sword strikes with ease, and the ability to fly at high speed. Additionally, Sonic retains his swordsmanship skills, allowing him to parry the Dark Queen's crushing sword strikes and deflect projectiles with Excalibur alone. He also gains heightened acrobatic abilities and reflexes that allow him to do spinning flips in the air to avoid attacks. Lastly, he can channel a form of golden magical energy into Excalibur that greatly increases the devastating power behind his sword thrusts.

In Sonic and the Black Knight, when Sonic proclaimed his intent to defeat Merlina despite having Caliburn sliced ​​in half and being outmatched against the dark witch, his resolve awakened the long-lost light of the sacred sword. The Knights of the Round Table proceeded to send their sacred swords to Sonic, and together, their power transformed Sonic into Excalibur Sonic and restored Caliburn as his ultimate form: Excalibur. With Merlina defeated, Excalibur Sonic let go of his form as well. In this world/game, Excalibur Sonic participates only during the mission "Defeat the Boss: The Dark Queen" in Dark Hollow. Upon starting the fight, Excalibur Sonic will have one hundred Rings in his possession. However, the player cannot pick up Rings during the mission. In exchange, Sonic can maintain this form without the sustenance of the Rings in his possession, and his Ring count will not decrease over time like Super Sonic's.
